Thirty years ago, there were 82,000 Muslims in the UK. At present, their number has swelled to 2.5 million. In other words, there has been a 30-fold increase in Muslim population in 30 years. According to the 2001 census, total population of the United Kingdom was 58,789,194. Following table shows the increase in Muslim population in the UK from 2004 to 2008:

The reader should recall that everywhere in the world, Muslim population grows much faster than that of all other religious groups. It is mainly due to their planned and deliberate rejection of family-planning measures. It has been mentioned in an earlier article that the fertility rate of Muslim immigrants now living in Europe is 8.1 children per family while the figure is as low as 1.38 for other religious groups in European Union. It may be mentioned here that in India, Muslim population, between 1991 and 2001 census, increased by 29.5%; for other religious groups, the figure was 19.5%. (Source: Census Report of India, 2001)
In the UK, natural population growth in 2008 overtook net immigration as the main contributor to population growth for the first time since 1998. England's population in mid-2008 was estimated to be 51.44 million and that of Scotland to be 5.17 million. Between 2001 and 2008, the UK population increased by an average annual rate of 0.5%. This may be compared to 0.3% per year in the period between 1991 and 2001, and 0.2% in the 1981-1991 decade. Reports on demographic change in the UK reveal another unpleasant development. It has been found that in 2008 and the mid-2007, UK was home to more people of pensionable age than children under the age of 16, which indicates that workforce is not replenished in the UK and here lies the need to invite immigrants from other nations.
In 2008, the average total fertility rate (TFR) across the UK was 1.96 children per woman. Though the figure is considered to be satisfactory by some groups, as it is higher than 1.63 in 2001, it is much lower than 2.95 children per woman registered in 1964. The Scotland had the lowest fertility rate at only 1.8 children per woman, while Northern Ireland had the highest at 2.11 children in 2008. But the minimum fertility rate (FR) for a culture to sustain its population for coming 25 years must be 2.11 children per family (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom).
On the arrival of immigrants in the UK, an analysis by the Office for National Statistical data shows that between 1991 and 2006, 2.3 million immigrants moved to the UK and 84% of them from outside Europe. In 2008, it was predicted that 7 million immigrants would add to the UK population by 2031. The latest official figures show that in 2008, 590,000 people arrived to settle in the UK, while 427,000 left country, which means that net inward migration was 163,000.
Muslim Population in UK
According to the 2001 census, there were 1,536,015 Muslims in England and Wales, forming 3% of the population. Muslims in Scotland numbered 42,557 representing 0.84% of the population. There were a further 1,943 Muslims in Northern Ireland. The biggest groups of Muslims were from Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. According to a Labour Force Survey, the total number of Muslims in Great Britain in 2008 was 2,422,000, some 4% of the total population. Between 2004 and 2008, the Muslim population grew by more than 500,000.
Among these immigrants, over 1 million people follow religions of Indian origin: 560,000 Hindus, 340,000 Sikhs and about 150,000 Buddhists. One Non-governmental organisation estimated that there were 800,000 Hindus and approximately 270,000 Jews in the United Kingdom in 2008. There were also a considerable Jain population, with Leicester housing one of the world's biggest Jain temples outside India. The Table 2 shows the population of various religious groups, in 2001, in UK. Table 3 shows the distribution of various religious groups in Europe.

Danger of the Rise of Muslim Population:
It has been pointed out that Muslim population all over the world grows faster than those of other religious groups. How much faster? Journalist Richard Kerbaj, after analyzing the data, has come to the conclusion that the Muslim population is rising ten times faster than the rest of the society (The Times, January 30, 2009; http://www.timesonl ine.co.uk/ tol/news/ uk/article562148 2.ece). Kerbaj says, “The Muslim population in Britain has grown by more than 500,000 to 2.4 million in just four years, according to official research collated for The Times.” He also writes, “The research by the Office for National Statistics revealed that within the same period the number of Christians in the country declined by more than 2 million.”
Experts are convinced that the said rapid increase of Muslim population was attributable to (i) immigration, (ii) a higher birthrate and (iii) conversions of indigenous people to Islam during the period of 2004-2008, when the data was gathered. They said, “It also suggests a growing willingness among the believers (Muslims) so as to project themselves as a religious group that cannot be ignored.”
It should be mentioned here that a rise in population of the religious groups, like Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Jews does not pose a threat to the host country. But a rise in Muslim population poses a serious threat to the culture and social fabric of the host Christian country. This is because Islam is fundamentally a totalitarian political creed disguised as a religion. The aim of Islam is to destroy all other religions and establish Islam as the supreme religion over the entire world (see Quran 8:39, 2:193).
So, Muslim immigrants, who come to work as a labour in EU countries, also come with the desire in the core of their hearts to conquer that country for Islam and to rule that country and, thus, to replace the present Judeo-Christian culture of the host country by Arabian religio-political and cultural order. In other words, they aim to turn that country into a colony of Arab religious imperialism. These Muslims do not have any loyalty to the host country. They are loyal, firstly to Allah, then to Allah’s messenger Muhammad and Allah’s book Koran, and finally to the holy places Mecca and Medina. From this viewpoint, each and every Muslim immigrant entertains hostility toward the host country so long it remains under non-Islamic rule.
Loyalty of the UK Muslims to Labour
It has been mentioned that the Leftist political parties around the world are generally more sympathetic to Muslims. Following this trend, the Labour Party in the UK shows more sympathy toward Muslims, simply to earn their votes. And as a return, Muslim immigrants of UK pretend to be more loyal to the Labour. Commenting on this Muslim-Labour alliance in the UK, political observer Nick Spencer writes: “There are good demographic and socio-economic reasons for that support. British Muslims are disproportionately younger and more urban. They come from lower-income households and experience higher levels of unemployment. These factors traditionally edge voters to the left. Perhaps the Muslim vote is actually made up of cross-currents of wider and more powerful demographic and socio-economic trends.” But “The Iraq war was supposed to have poisoned Labour's relations with British Muslims.” (The Guardian, February 22, 2010)
He also predicted that due to the souring of Muslim-Labour relation, the latter was expected to lose support of a considerable section of Muslims and wrote, “If there were a general election tomorrow, 35% of voting Muslims (meaning those Muslims who claim they are more likely than not to vote) would vote Labour. This compares with 22% of voting Christians and 23% of the entire voting population. By comparison, whereas 30% of the voting population would tick the Conservative box, only 13% of voting Muslims would do so.” At the same time, it is also true that, at least 49% of Muslims will continue to support the Labour Party and claim that the Labour party has been most friendly towards the Muslim faith over recent years.
So, a group of experts apprehended just before the Parliamentary Election 2010 that, “Though the Muslims of UK form only a small percentage (nearly 3 per cent) of the electorate yet, paradoxically, it could be Britain’s Muslims who determine the outcome of next month’s general election. The reason is simple: although there are only about two million Muslims in a nation of 61 million, their numbers are concentrated in a relatively small number of towns and cities throughout the country.” (David Sapsted, Oxford Islamic Marketing, April 19, 2010) So, it is needless to say that, in those Muslim concentrated constituencies, Muslim votes have become a deciding factor in electoral outcomes. The Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK (MPacUK), a London-based civil liberties group, estimates that the Muslim vote could prove to be the deciding factor in as many as 82 marginal constituencies.
Blackburn is such a constituency where Muslims make 26% of the electorate, and hence considered one of Labour’s firmest strongholds. "There are about 25,000 Muslim voters in Blackburn so of course they can make a difference," said the Tory candidate, Imtiaz Ameen. “It has supplied two of the party's leading lights in Foreign Secretary Jack Straw and the late Barbara Castle. Discontent over the Iraq war is felt keenly here, where many Muslims, who make up 26% of the electorate, are starting to turn their back on their traditional support for the Labour party”, said an observer. For example, Ajaz Ellahi, a 28-year-old fabric shop owner, said: "I voted in the last election for Labour but I absolutely will not this time, due to the fact that they are murderers in disguise as you have seen in Iraq."
However, in another article, David Sapsted wrote on April 17, 2010: “The Muslim votes would be a crucial element when both the Labour and Conservative parties are fighting a close battle to get an overall majority in the 646-seat parliament. Traditionally, the bulk of the Muslim vote has gone to the ruling Labour Party, which has been regarded as more sympathetic towards Muslim immigrants.”
“Despite the British military excursions in Iraq and Afghanistan and the introduction of antiterrorism laws, 57 per cent of the country’s Muslims said they intended to vote Labour in a poll earlier this year. … The same poll, however, found that only 32 per cent of Muslims were “absolutely certain” to vote, compared to 47 per cent across the nation”, Sapsted added.
Another development that has made the politicians worried is that, a good percentage of Muslim voters were found to be reluctant to exercise their democratic right in the last election and it was found that only 32 per cent of Muslims went to polling stations to cast their votes. Such a lack of interest has prompted a variety of campaigns this year to get people to the polls.
The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) organisation had launched a 'Muslim Vote 2010' campaign, complete with a website, targeting to bring more Muslims to the polling booths on the Election Day. It explained why it was vital for Muslims to exercise their democratic rights. Rukiya Dadhiwala, the MPacUK campaign coordinator, however, did not expect that the bulk of Muslim voters will revert to their old habits and vote for Labour candidates. “Muslim voters can no longer be taken for granted by Labour as a new politicised generation are becoming swing voters who demand action on issues from Palestine to antiterror laws,” she said. It is evident that all these factors contributed to the defeat of Labour in 2010 Parliamentary election.
Lust for Muslim vote
In a country, run by a democratic government, it is expected that an individual will cast his vote in favour of a political party of his/her personal choice. But the picture is quite different for the Muslims who live in a non-Muslim majority country; they cast their votes not according to their personal choice but according to the dictates of clerics and community leaders. This forms a Muslim block-vote and goes for a single political party. As soon as this block-vote attains a sizeable amount, or becomes a deciding factor for winning or losing election, every political party starts wooing and appeasing Muslims hoping that they would cast their votes in its favour. To please Muslims, the government starts providing more and more facilities to them, even at the sacrifice of national interest. And in this way the politics of Muslim appeasement gains momentum.
Readers may recall that as the number of Muslim voters rise fast in the UK, the Labour Party, to remain in power, has adopted the policy of Muslim appeasement as a standard practice to capture their voters. The Labour government's refusal to let Wilders enter the UK on February 12, 2009, was undoubtedly a reflection of that policy.
This also becomes apparent from the following statement of Labour MP Gerald Hain on May 12, 2008: said, “Labour needs to change tack on foreign policy to win back voters who deserted the party over the Iraq war. …. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims had been lost to Labour as a result of the worsening situation in Iraq. … We must win back Muslim voters.” (http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/0100n...name_page.html). (Peter Gerald Hain was a British Labour politician, who had been the Member of Parliament 1991, and had served in the Cabinets of both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, firstly as Leader of the House of Commons under Blair and both Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and Secretary of State for Wales under Brown. He was the Member of Parliament for the Welsh constituency of Neath. He came to the UK from South Africa as a teenager, and was a noted anti-apartheid campaigner in the 1970s).
A political analyst commented on Mr Hain’s statements: "Yes, and we all know how they will attempt to win back the Islamic vote. By pandering to their every whim and demand, by elevating their status over the indigenous population to an even higher level than it already is. I can understand why they need to do this. Labour is steadily losing support among ordinary Britons, including some alienated sections of the working class. They so heartily despise, as people are increasingly starting to realise what they are about. It is sheer desperation, an unscrupulous attempt to cling onto power whatever the price may be. And without a doubt the Islamic scum will demand a heavy price for the support this despicable government so desperately needs.”
Criticism of British Policy by Geert Wilders
Stephen Brown, in his article British Parliament Surrenders (FrontPageMagazine.com, February 6, 2009), criticized the policy of Muslim appeasement adopted by UK's Labour Government. He wrote:
“The place where Winston Churchill once so eloquently and forcefully rallied the British people to defeat the Nazi threat is now under siege from a new tyranny. Islamic intimidation achieved a new high last week when it forced the British Parliament, one of Western civilization's most venerable institutions, to quietly surrender its most basic of freedoms.”
Most importantly, the Dutch MP Geert Wilders, the producer of the short film FITNA and the lone fighter against the Islamization of Europe, while addressing an audience at the House of Lords on March 5, 2010, more bitterly denounced the British policy of Muslim appeasement. He said, “Islam means submission, there cannot be any mistake about its goal. That's a given. The question is whether we in Europe and you in Britain, with your glorious past, will submit or stand firm for your heritage. We see Islam taking off in the West at an incredible pace. Europe is Islamizing rapidly. A lot of European cities have enormous Islamic concentrations. Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Berlin are just a few examples. In some parts of these cities, Islamic regulations are already being enforced. Women's rights are being destroyed. Burqa's, headscarves, polygamy, female genital mutilation, honour-killings have started to take place in a wide scale. Women have to go to separate swimming-classes, don't get a handshake. Many European cities are already under apartheid. Jews, in an increasing number, are leaving Europe.”
He pointed out that, Islamization of Great Britain is rapidly advancing due to mass immigration of Muslims to the country and that this Islamization “has put an enormous pressure on your British society. ... British politicians who have forgotten about Winston Churchill have now taken the path of least resistance. They have given up. They have given in.”
Questioning the economic aspect of mass immigration, he said: “Last year, my party has requested the Dutch government to make a cost-benefit analysis of the mass immigration. But the government refused to give us an answer. Why? Because it was afraid of the truth. .... A Dutch weekly magazine - Elsevier - calculated costs to exceed 200 billion Euros. Last year alone, they came with an amount of 13 billion Euros. More calculations have been made in Europe: According to the Danish national bank, every Danish immigrant from an Islamic country is costing the Danish state more than 300 thousand Euros. You see the same in Norway and France. The conclusion that can be drawn from this:
Europe is getting more impoverished by the day. More impoverished thanks to mass immigration. More impoverished thanks to demographics. And the leftists are thrilled.”
It is evident that same things are happening in Britain as well but being suppressed.
To caution the audience about the danger Islamization of Europe, Wilders said: “The Labour Government has opened the door to mass immigration as a deliberate policy to change the social structures of the UK. Andrew Neather, a former government advisor and speech writer for Tony Blair and Jack Straw, said the aim of Labour's immigration strategy was, and I quote, to "rub the Right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date".
“If this is true, this is symptomatic of the Left. Why the Labour Party has opened the door for mass Muslim immigrants? The Labour is contemplating to turn the Muslims immigrants into their voters through appeasement and win elections”, he added.
West Bengal in also a victim of the curse of Muslim appeasement
The picture is quite similar to what is happening in the state of West Bengal (WB) in India. A coalition government led by the Communists and other leftist parties are ruling the state for the past 30 years. Labour in Britain and Leftists in the Europe are inviting Muslim immigrants to remain in power. In West Bengal, the ruling Leftist Government has opened the porous WB-Bangladesh border and inviting the illegal Muslim infiltrators to come and settle in the state. In fact, Muslim Bangladeshi infiltrators are pouring into WB in large numbers. The appeasement of these Muslim infiltrators starts as soon as an infiltrator crosses the border and sets his foot on Indian soil.
The Communist cadres immediately start their job – firstly to find a suitable shelter for them and then to provide ration cards and get their names entered into the voters’ list, and thus turning them into citizens of India through the back door. This author has described these developments through several articles e.g. The Destiny of the Hindus of West Bengal: The Coming Days of Slavery to Islam, West Bengal in the Peril of Islamic Jihad and so on. These Leftist political leaders fail to understand that by bringing the Muslims into WB, they are axing their own legs. They will be the first victim of Islam as soon as Muslims gain majority.
In the UK, one may recall the recent stabbing of the Labour MP Stephen Timms on May 14 this year by Roshanara chaudhari, a young Muslim woman.
How the Muslims utilise this opportunity
Sir Winston Churchill assessed Islam as thus: “How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet (Mohammed) rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child , a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.”
In fact, Islam is a nonspiritual political creed. It is not a religion, but a political party and each and every mosque is its party office. The religious address (khutba) delivered by the imams of the mosques after Friday prayers are nothing but political lectures. So, as a religious group, Muslims are politically more conscious and active than other religious groups. As a result, as soon as Muslims in a non-Muslim country could sense that the ruling government or the ruling political are greedy for their votes and has adopted the policy of Muslim appeasement, they start bargaining to squeeze out as much benefit as possible from that ruling party. And they go on demanding unjust financial, religious or any other benefit and concessions from the government, because they know that government would bow down to their most unjust and illegal demands for their votes.
In addition to that, they intensify their jihadi and other unlawful activities because they know that the government would turn a blind eye to these activities for the fear of losing their votes.
In this manner, they elevate themselves as citizens of the first category, while the indigenous people of the country are reduced to second category citizens. As a consequence of this political game, they have already succeeded in establishing Sharia courts in the U.K. as a parallel system judiciary. As a matter of fact, through establishment of Sharia court, they have been able to advance the process of Islamization of UK a step further. Discussion on the other curses of Muslim appeasement would follow in another article.
