Being an "urban and funky" hair salon just doesn't cut it in Britain - neither does an employer hiring an employee who best fits into the business model. Thus is the case of Bushra Noah - who recently sued the new entreprenuer Sarah Desrosiers - owner of the Wedge Salon in North London. The nineteen year old headscarf wearing muslim, Ms Noah, had applied for a job at the trendy hairdressing salon but Ms Desrosiers expressed concern, during the subsequent in person interview, that as hair styling was her business that it made no sense to have a stylist whose hair could not be used as an advertisement for the salon. Apparently ALL the other employed stylists showcased various alternative haircuts with their own hair.
"But the devout Muslim insisted that wearing her headscarf was essential to her beliefs. Miss Noah, who has been rejected for 25 different hairdressing jobs after interviews, is suing Miss Desrosiers for more than £15,000 for injury to her feelings plus an unspecified sum for lost earnings."
At a hearing that just took place Ms Noah described how her "hurt feeling" caused her such distress - one wonders why the other 25 hairdresser's did not also get sued for Noah's supposed mental discomfort.
"During the hearing Ms Noah, who lives in Acton, west London, told the tribunal that she was "devastated" that she was not offered the job of assistant stylist "due to my headscarf". "
Whereas the salon owner, Ms Derosiers, gave several legitimate reasons why she did not hire Ms. Noah - to no surprise the tribunal decided to award Busrha Noah $8,000:
"The panel found that Ms Noah had been badly upset by the 15-minute interview . She was awarded £4,000 damages for "injury to feelings".
Ms Derosiers commented that : "I never in a million years dreamt that somebody would be completely against the display of hair and be in this industry. I don't feel I deserve it."
Well I don't feel that you deserve to be punished for deciding what is in the best interest of your business either! Apparently the question of the 25 other hairdressing job denials never made it into the tribunal evidence. Isn't that an indication that Ms Noah may have been trolling for the right person to "set up" for a lawsuit? Or, are 25 other salon owners going to be sued by Ms Noah for hurt feelings? This tribunal decision clearly interferes with an owner being able to use good business judgement.
It also is yet another example where muslim's suing for "hurt feelings" always pays.

Muslim stylist wins £4,000 payout
Bushra Noah accused Sarah Desrosiers of religious discrimination when she failed to offer her a job at her Wedge salon in King's Cross, central London.
An employment tribunal panel dismissed the 19-year-old's claim but upheld her complaint of indirect discrimination.
Ms Desrosiers said she needed stylists to showcase alternative hairstyles.
During the hearing Ms Noah, who lives in Acton, west London, told the tribunal that she was "devastated" that she was not offered the job of assistant stylist "due to my headscarf".
Urban image
Ms Desrosiers, 32, told the panel that Ms Noah lived too far away, but was persuaded to give her an interview in May last year.
When the applicant arrived for the interview she claimed the Canadian salon owner was clearly shocked by the fact she wore a headscarf.
Ms Desrosiers told the tribunal she was surprised it had not been mentioned earlier and expected her staff to reflect the "funky, urban" image of her salon.
The panel found that Ms Noah had been badly upset by the 15-minute interview .
She was awarded £4,000 damages for "injury to feelings".
In its judgment, the panel stated: "We were satisfied by the respondent's evidence that the claimant was not treated less favourably than the respondent would have treated a woman who, whether Muslim or not, for a reason other than religious belief wears a hair covering at all times when at work."
It added: "There was no specific evidence before us as to what would (for sure) have been the actual impact of the claimant working in her salon with her head covered at all times."
Speaking after the ruling the salon owner said: "I never in a million years dreamt that somebody would be completely against the display of hair and be in this industry. I don't feel I deserve it."
Ms Noah refused to comment on the matter.
Bushra Noah was practicing her religion, The Religion of Peace. Noah is commanded by the filthy Qur'an to "be ruthless to the infidels" Sura 48:29). So Noah was "ruthless to an infidel."
The filthy Qur'an also commanded Noah to "never be a helper to the disbeliever" (Sura 28:26). So Noah not only complied, but helped herself with an infidel's money.
Noah also made sure to comply with the filthy Quran's following sura: "Make war on the infidels around you" (Sura (9:123, 66:9).
So as an evil person, but as a "good" Muslim, Bushra Noah did quite well.

The salon owner should refuse to pay the kangeroo (or is it camel) court.

Well, it would seem that it is requisite "to be ruthless" to Noah. Anyone know her address? No, I'm 5k miles away. But I would hope that a peaceful life for her is a thing of the past. "...in the fields and in the streets." The enemy that faces Britain is more insidious than Nazi Germany ever was. Why do the British sit and moan?

disgusting. Bushra Noah is the exact kind of vile leech that is destroying Britain. She should be locked up for the rest of her life, no one will hurt her feelings if she is locked in solitary forever

I was wondering - if one of these Islamic girls were to go to a fashion house - and when it was time to model say that they don't wish to remove their headscarf - and of course once they are ejected - sues the modelling agency or fashion house for discrimination and hurt feelings.
How far will this be allowed to go?

Can I please hurt Bushra Noah's feelings some more by saying that I think her false religion was invented by a lunatic? Oops, there goes another $8000!

Why are there no Islamics featured in Star Trek? Answer: its set in the future.

CAIR were offended that Spock was not portrayed as a Muslim so the PC US Supreme Court ordered the show recast with a Muslim and have the name changed to Star Drek.

Leader of the Klingons claims his people were the true Muslims and that Mohammed being an Earthling was a liar and an imposter. Asked by Captain Kirk for proof of this he says "I was around longer than Mohammed. Look, my spaceship is so old it still has an outside toilet".

It's becoming increasingly obvious this kind of thing is being orchestrated. Burqa-wearing schoolteachers and schoolgirls, and now this. This is not just a series of spontaneous acts by individuals, but part of an organised whole; testing us to see just how far we'll go, and how far they can get. However, I feel that here the P.C. clowns have shot themselves in the foot. With this decision they've sent a clear message to employers;employ muslims at your peril. You won't be able to get rid of them, even for genuine industrial or other misconduct. So, when a muslim applies, the replies will be 'sorry, position filled' or 'sorry you were unsuccessful, better luck in the future" no reason given.

I have been following this and am very disappointed, though not surprised. Ms Noah, I noticed wore very unflattering glasses in her press picture, unsuitable for a funky hairdressers which promoted young, avant garde style. Ms Noah is unstylish and this is why she did not get the job. I think Ms Desrosiers should take this further.

Might it be worthwhile going to her M.P. ? If she went for an appeal, she might well lose and be even further out of pocket.
I must admit the logic of all this is beyond me. I'm now in my 50's and if I went about sueing all the companies who didn't give me a job in my life, alleging "hurt feelings" I'd make a fortune. Then again I'm not a muslim; maybe I should sue under the name of Mohammed !!!

Bushra Noah MY DAUGHTER deserves more understanding. The fact that Britain hosts our estimed family means that the UK should show deference and gratitude. Therefore if you should hurt our feelings in any way then you should pay. Praise be to Allah.
Dr A Noah

Dear Dr Noah,
Boo-hoo-hoo ! So you and your family's teensy-weensy feelings have been hurt ! How absolutely PRECIOUS you must be ! We all apply for jobs and have been turned down in our life. It's a part of life. I do not see why that poor hairdresser should pay good hard earned money to refuse anyone unsuitable. And, very sorry, Dr Noah ( if that's who you REALLY are ) but your daughter WAS unsuitable for that job;just as I would be-a balding 55 year old guy !
And another thing;we do NOT owe you or anyone else DEFERENCE. We should all treat each other. with basic human mutual respect.
Posted by: Jerry | June 18, 2008 at 11:34 PM
Dr A Noah, (if you really are this womans father) we owe you nothing. As to deference and gratitude, don't make me laugh. Though I would be grateful if you did this - and that is take yourself and your family, including your grab-all daughter and bugger off to some Islamic country where I am sure your daughter will be made most welcome for conning money from 'infidels'. How's that for a solution?

Yes, 'Doctor" Noah. Please live up to your biblical namesake and sail away from us in your Ark! I believe you can find what's left of the original on top of Mount Ararat - a region stolen from the Armenians by your co-religionist Turks after massacring the inhabitants.
MA'SALLAMA!!!
Posted by: Jerry | June 19, 2008 at 10:12 AM
Dr. Noah! (If you are the girl's father), we owe you nothing! If you can't handle life such as your daughter being turned down for jobs just like millions of other parents with their sons and daughters turned down for jobs, then get out of the UK!
That's life! Muslims do not deserve special treatment. BTW Mr. Noah, I recently turned down a Muslim in my employ because he had no experience and I hired someone with experience so I can do other things with little supervision. I treat everyone equal. The person that I hired was Chinese. I treat everyone the same!

I don't consider "hurt feeling" as a crime that's ridiculous.
