MUSLIM ARTIST'S VIDEO GAME CHALLENGES PLAYERS TO KILL PRESIDENT BUSH

While the continuous drumbeat of muslim claims regarding the myth of Islamophobia resound in Europe, UK & USA and while cartoons are enough to provoke muslim demonstrations and even killing - we now find a former Iraqi, Wafaa Bilel, who is now a US citizen, producing a video game -under the guise of art - that allows the player to stalk and kill US President George W. Bush. In fact, Mr Bilel appears in the video as a suicide bomber.

Mr. Bilel considers himself a political artist who's subject matter usually deals with political oppression, war and what he calls the "Iraqi experience". He was angered when he was viewed as a victim/spy, post first Gulf War, yet still looked to the USA as the place he aspired to live.  He received entry into the US and began his new life. Thus, this so -called computer based art is developed by a muslim man, who has utilized all the advantages that the USA offers new immigrants to obtain a bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico and and MFA (Master of Fine Arts) from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago - where he currently resides as a Professor - a Country that clearly has greatly facilitated Bilel's success.

One has to wonder where and how much Wafaa Bilel touts the many liberties he has found in the USA - freedoms that allow him to produce such political "works of art" that would find him maimed or killed in any muslim nation. (also see here) In fact, Bilel had previously been arrested for his artwork by Sadaam Hussein's enforcers.

Or, as it appears, is he twisting the First Amendment to the US Constitution, under the guise of art, to further terrorism, violence and hatred toward the President of the United States and in turn the American people?

THE POPULATION JIHAD

Whilst the threat of Islamist terrorism takes up much of the Western world's attention, dialogue, security preparedness and fears the true threat of Islam comes from a mass of people whose polygamous life style is conducive to massive overpopulation. While our Western leaders ponder what newer bigger and better safety measures can be installed - placing CC cameras in every possible location to document our mundane daily activities and pull bottles of "threatening" hand creme from our airport luggage -  these same leaders stand with our borders wide open and encourage the full scale muslim colonization of our countries.

Indeed, the greatest threat, as the below article states, is the consistent drum beat of muslim immigration into the Western countries aided and abeted by our politicians and leaders lefty policies of multiculturalism and of extended family reunification. At no other time in history has it been easier and more comforatable for muslims to enter the UK (and other Western countries) and immediately partake of the taxpayer paid social benefits. In fact, multiculturalism has actually place muslims in a position of receiving preferential treatment over and above the indigenous population.(a few examples here , here , here )The British, and other Western countries, are expected to bow down and worship at the altar of multiculturalism all whilst sacrificing British/Western culture and traditions at this same altar.  Hand in hand with multiculturalism came the perpetually overused club of racism - thus anyone who speaks out against muslim over-immigration is immediately silenced and pilloried with accusations of being "racist". It's become un-politically correct to speak about the muslim colonisation happening right under our "stiff upper lips".

Finally an author has the courage to speak and write what is actually occurring - along with warnings that such overpopulation by the muslims will most definitely lead to the Isalmisation of Europe/West. Too many Westerners bought into the "
zero population growth" particularly popular back in the 1970s. Westerners were made to feel it was our duty to lessen the death march of overpopulation - to do our part for the world.  Yes - the majority of us did -- and now the consequences are that other regions, particularly the Middle East, continued to overpopulate whilst the Western world population stagnated or dwindled.  Now the same lefty leaders and university elites, that guilted us into having smaller families, tell us that we "need" rampant immigration to survive. Unfortunately, it is clear that our traditions and cultures will NOT survive.

The looming question is whether or not it is the obligation of the West to absorb the world's poor - can we afford to do so both culturally and economically?

The even more ominous stark reality is it appears we no longer are given a choice.

The population explosion on Europe’s doorstep

The Duke of Edinburgh had a point when he warned of overpopulation. The countries growing fastest are our Islamic neighbours, says a novelist

A group of babies

In a televised interview with Sir Trevor McDonald last week, the Duke of Edinburgh cited “overpopulation” as the prime source of escalating food prices. Another gaffe! “Overpopulation” dropped out of usage in the 1970s, and the deluded old coot doesn’t seem to realise that the term is passé. Or is it?

Helping to make “overpopulation” a buzz word of his era, Paul Ehrlich observed in his 1968 bestseller The Population Bomb that by 8000BC it had taken the human race about 1m years to double in number. Yet when he published his alarmist book, world population was 3.5 billion, and the doubling time was down to 35 years.

“If growth continued at that rate for about 900 years, there would be some 60 million billion people on the face of the Earth,” he warned. “This is about 100 persons for each square yard of the Earth’s surface, land and sea.”

Well, what a load of hooey. (Even Ehrlich then conceded that he was being fanciful.) According to current United Nations projections, world population is expected to reach 9.2 billion by 2050, peaking soon afterward at only 9.8 billion.

Expectations colour perception. Compared with the idea of sharing one square yard with 99 of our closest friends, a world inhabited by “only” 9.8 billion people seems perfectly pleasant. Yet that is nearly half again as much company as we already enjoy. Try getting into a small lift with nine other passengers and then asking “only” five more to join you. Try telling a host who’s preparing a dinner for 10 that you’ve just invited “only” five more guests, and you’ll probably get a pie in the face.

Most of us who remember Ehrlich’s book have long since dismissed it for stirring hysteria. Yet in some respects he was almost right: he predicted that world population would double in 35 years, and in 40 years it has indeed almost doubled – from 3.5 billion to 6.7 billion in 2007. So why does Prince Philip’s invocation of “overpopulation” seem so anachronistic, so unfashionable?

Because the term no longer applies to the West. In the 1960s the threat of “overpopulation” applied to virtually every country in the world, all of whose populations were expanding – if at different rates. From 1971, however, western fertility plummeted. Europe has been underreproducing for decades: its total fertility rate (TFR) – the average number of children a woman bears in her lifetime – is 1.5, well below the 2.1 required to replace the people already here.

Meanwhile, with a current TFR of 2.9 , the population of poorer nations keeps rising. Virtually all of the 2.5 billion extra people on our guest list will arrive in the Third World (aka “undeveloped”, “underdeveloped” or “developing” nations, or recently “the south” – when people keep shifting their terminology, be sure that there’s something politically scary in the vicinity).

Now viewed as a judgmental word that applies exclusively to nonwestern countries, “overpopulation” has become racially, religiously and ethnically sticky, and thus totally uncool. For decades no one in the population field has touched the word “overpopulation” with a bargepole.

It’s time to come clean: I am a demography junkie. My perverse obsession began when I was 16, when I spent a full semester of high school researching population growth. I revisited the fascination in my fourth novel, Game Control. In what I hope is a wicked satire, a demographic zealot plans to nip runaway population growth in the bud by murdering two billion people overnight. The premise may sound outlandish but the nonfiction underpinnings of the text were carefully researched. Furthermore, the graph of human population through the ages – meandering virtually horizontal at the bottom of the page for hundreds of thousands of years and then spiking almost vertically over the past century like a polygraph needle when the subject tells a whopper – illustrates that, in population biology, fact itself is more outlandish than anything I might make up.

Why have I been entranced by population, of all things? I have my theories. I grew up in a religious, left-leaning American household that tyrannised my childhood with guilt. Before we ate, we had to pray for hungry Chinese peasants, and then we had to clean our plates for the starving Armenians (long dead, but no one told me). Everything nice that we had we were supposed to feel bad about; and I was required to give 10 cents of my 25c weekly allowance (that’s about 12p) to charity. So I think I resented all these poor people for whom I was supposed to feel sorry. They were a burden. Then I discovered that there were going to be more and more of them. Just because they had large families, I was going to have to feel even worse and give away more of my allowance.

In adulthood I’ve come to appreciate how many other problems are fuelled by population growth, from environmental degradation to disease. All roads lead to demography. Besides, there’s nothing boring about statistics if you have an imagination and some sense of what they mean.

My interest was reignited in 2003 by an article in Population and Development Review. The journal’s editor, Paul Demeny, compared the population projections for Yemen – a Muslim country about the size of France – and Russia, which is 30 times bigger. In 1950 Russia had 103m people, Yemen 4.3m – meaning there were 24 Russians for every Yemeni. By 2000 Russia had 145m people, and Yemen 17.5m – that’s about eight Russians for every Yemeni. Proportionally, a few more Yemenis; no big deal.

Alas, Russian men drink too much. Their life expectancy is 60. Worse, Russian women are not having many babies: by 2000 Russia’s total fertility rate was a miserable 1.2. Demeny revealed that even though UN figures assumed Russian fertility would rise by 50% – awfully optimistic – the country’s population in 2050 was still expected to contract back to 1950 levels of about 104m. Meanwhile, although UN figures also assumed that fertility in Yemen would fall by half, Yemen’s population in 2050 was expected to rise to 102m.

That’s right: in a little more than 40 years, the population of Russia could be met and overtaken by that of Yemen. Which has only 3% arable land and is mostly desert.

If Russia versus Yemen is an extreme case, the broader picture is equally sobering. Demeny went on to compare the populations of 25 European nations to the 25 nations in what he called Europe’s “southern hinterland”: the Asian and north African countries surrounding this continent. Check out the UN population projections in 2000 (see panel).

Honey, I shrunk the continent: Europe is contracting. On the other hand, over the course of only 100 years north Africa, western Asia and the Middle East are set to multiply eightfold. Throw into the mix the fact that all those countries are Muslim, and politically you have one sizzling hot potato.

Why should any of this matter to us? Well, let’s count the ways:

Immigration Legal or illegal, we haven’t seen anything yet. If we add in all of Africa – from which significant numbers emigrate to Europe – we can expect by 2050 to have 2.7 billion relatively poor, heavily unemployed and perhaps increasingly desperate people on Europe’s doorstep.

Since most of them cannot afford a ticket on American Airlines, they will migrate to wealthy countries nearby to which they can swim, walk or ride by stowing away on a lorry. And never mind protecting European borders or tightening the laws. Desperate people are resourceful people; just because you’re poor doesn’t mean you’re not smart.

Food and fuel pricesThe recent spikes in both have admittedly been fed by a variety of factors, but one of them is demand. That demand will keep rising with increased population, and so will prices.

Climate change The addition of three billion people, many of whom may aspire to a middle-class western lifestyle, will turn feeble carbon-reduction efforts – recycling yoghurt pots, biking to work – into a joke. If you care about green issues, ipso facto you should care about population.

Political instability and reduced social cohesion Inexorably high immigration rates from neighbouring Muslim countries are likely to transform the ethnic and religious composition of this continent. Happily, it may soon be possible to get an excellent falafel on any street corner in Europe. But if younger generations in countries such as Egypt continue to become more fundamentalist and more politically radicalised than their parents, terrorism could rise.

WaterThere isn’t enough of it. In his level-headed book How Many People Can the Earth Support?, Professor Joel Cohen identifies water as the ultimate limiting factor on human population. Even if it were evenly distributed throughout the world – which it is not – the human race would be expected to run out of fresh water when the global population reached about nine billion – a figure we are now set substantially to exceed.

Power Europe initially rose to political and military dominance in tandem with a rising population. With a dropping population, its influence will probably wane.

Is this little more than racist, xenophobic claptrap? I don’t think so. Current population levels are facts. Population projections are mathematical extrapolations from facts. Certainly, you can fiddle with the assumptions underlying the projections and come up with wildly different numbers, and historically the accuracy of demographic prediction has been pretty dismal. (Case in point: only four years after Demeny published his comparison of Yemen and Russia, the UN nearly halved its projected 2050 population for Yemen from 102m to 58m. Yet, Demeny tells me, “there are many more Yemens”: the population of Egypt will exceed Russia’s well before 2050.)

Numbers do not have prejudices. Europe is dwindling. Its immediate Muslim neighbours are still having large families, and their populations are continuing to grow. Make of that what you will. It is not BNP propaganda; it’s just the way things are.

The Duke of Edinburgh may not have employed the trendiest vocabulary but he’s not suffering from undiagnosed dementia. Whatever you call it, the threat of overpopulation is back and here to stay – because it never really went away. This could be a good time to start learning Arabic.

Barack Obama - Black Nationalist or Muslim? OR BOTH?

There has been much speculation over the past year that Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama is at the least hiding a bias towards muslims and could be a "closet muslim" himself.  Hoards of blogs have been written about this  see - Here    Here  Here   Here and the four prior links are all written by reputable authors.

The man we know began his younger school years using the name Barry Obama (below is page from high school yearbook)

Barry Obama, class of '79

- changed names, while attending school in Indonesia, where Barry Obama was registered as Barry Sotero - using the last name of his mother's second muslim husband. There is also evidence that Barry's education in Indonesia was heavily influenced by the muslim religion. Somewhere around 1980 Barry decided he wanted to "find himself" and to identify himself more with his African muslim father for whom Barack is named - thus he told relatives "no more Barry" and began to use his given name - Barack.

Was this an indication that adult Barack Obama was indeed leaning toward muslim identity and had an affiliation for Islam?  Or is he a black nationalist by which he would be ideologically compelled to accept the Nation of Islam beliefs? The below article adds a bit more information on this subject.

Wright a former Muslim? OK, I missed first time through ...
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, April 08, 2008

I read this TNR article quite some time back as Obama was beginning to emerge as a very serious candidate. I was interested in the fact that both he and Hillary had a "Saul Alinsky" connection. And it was in this article that I found out why he joined a church in Chicago (to aid his community organizing). What I missed completely, at the time, was a line about Jeremiah Wright that sort of brings everything into the proper focus. Of course, at the time I read the article, by Ryan Lizza, Wright wasn't the subject of any scrutiny:

From Wright and others, Obama learned that part of his problem as an organizer was that he was trying to build a confederation of churches but wasn't showing up in the pews on Sunday. When pastors asked him the inevitable questions about his own spiritual life, Obama would duck them uncomfortably. A Reverend Philips put the problem to him squarely when he learned that Obama didn't attend services. "It might help your mission if you had a church home," he told Obama. "It doesn't matter where, really. What you're asking from pastors requires us to set aside some of our more priestly concerns in favor of prophesy. That requires a good deal of faith on our part. It makes us want to know just where you're getting yours from."

After many lectures like this, Obama decided to take a second look at Wright's church. Older pastors warned him that Trinity was for "Buppies"—black urban professionals—and didn't have enough street cred. But Wright was a former Muslim and black nationalist who had studied at Howard and Chicago, and Trinity's guiding principles—what the church calls the "Black Value System"—included a "Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness.'"

The crosscurrents appealed to Obama. He came to believe that the church could not only compensate for the limitations of Alinsky-style organizing but could help answer the nagging identity problem he had come to Chicago to solve. "It was a powerful program, this cultural community," he wrote, "one more pliant than simple nationalism, more sustaining than my own brand of organizing."

Now obviously, the reference here is to Louis Farrakhan's "Nation of Islam", not the Muslim faith everywhere else in the world. So suddenly all of the deference to Farrakhan makes sense. And that coupled with the black nationalism explains the racist rants from the pulpit.

And notice what Lizza contends - that the church he chose was a means to "help answer the nagging identity problem he had come to Chicago to solve." How in the world can that be so unless you buy into what the church believes in?

Now, again, it is TNR and we've certainly had issues with that bunch so take it with a grain of salt if you wish, but it sure seems to connect some dots.

Couple it with this and you really end up scratching your head:

In yesterday's conversation with Time's Joe Klein I noted that when then Illinois State Senator Barack Obama ran against incumbent Congressman Bobby Rush in the 2000 Democratic primary for the 1st Congressional District, Obama announced there wasn't much difference between the two candidates when it came to beliefs.

"I don't think there are a lot of ideological differences," Obama declared after a television debate between Rush, himself and a third candidate Donne Trotter.

Anyone know who Bobby Rush is? Well, from 1963 to 1968, was a co-founder of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party. Now, you take Obama's ideological declaration any way you wish, but you have to assume he meant what he said.

And then there's Obama acquaintance with Bill "I don't regret setting bombs; I feel we didn't do enough" Ayers, formerly of the ultra-radical Weather Underground.

You know, taken singly, you can say, "eh, so he knew so-and-so, no biggie". But when you begin to put them side-by-side, you begin to think, "aren't there a few too many "coincidences" here?"

I'm sorry but I find all of these 'coincidences' to be something which should be looked into much more closely than they are. A disciple of Saul Alinsky, a connection to black nationalism and the beliefs of the Nation of Islam (through his pastor and church), a self-declared ideological sameness with a former member of the Black Panther Party and "friend" of a violent former member of the Weather Underground?

Time for the MSM to do a little digging and Obama to do a lot more explaining than he's had to do to this point.

DHIMMI NYC COUNCIL SPONSORS RESOLUTION TO OBSERVE MUSLIM HOLIDAYS

Looks like New York City  - as well as New York State - are vying for the Dhimmi capital of the USA. In an effort to pander to muslims, the school calendar will likely make two Islamic holidays - Eid Ul-Fitr and Eid Ul-Adha - as observed holidays in the city’s public school calendar.

It is ludicrous that any city would think that adding more time off is in the best interest of the students -American students have a shorter school year than those living in twelve of the world’s other wealthiest nations. Students in other information-age countries receive twice as much instruction as American students in core academic areas during their secondary school years."

Clearly the politicians are manipulating the children's school calendar to appease the politician's constituencies with little thought to what is right for New York's school-age children. These children do not need additional days off to appease religious groups and certainly should not be used as ploys to garner votes for self serving politicians.

One wonders how far political  pandering will go - with muslims greatly increasing in numbers in NYC  - will acceptance of regional Sharia Law be next?

NATIONAL NEWS

Muslims Push for Public School Holidays
by Saeed Shabazz
Special to the NNPA from the Final Call

NEW YORK (NNPA) - A New York City councilman and 12 colleagues have sponsored a resolution calling on the state to require the Department of Education to incorporate the Muslim holidays of Eid Ul-Fitr and Eid Ul-Adha as observed holidays in the city’s public school calendar.

Immediately Mayor Michael Bloomberg called Resolution 1281 a “slippery slope,” saying students cannot afford more days off. “When you have a city as diverse as we do, with virtually every religion known to man practiced, if we closed school for every single day there wouldn’t be any school,” news reports quoted the two-term mayor as saying.

“The mayor’s reaction is not a surprise to me,” Councilman Robert Jackson (D-Manhattan), a Muslim, told The Final Call. “This resolution is clearly important because it shows respect for Islam,” the councilman added. “It also says to those who say no, are you willing to change as the population of New York City has changed?”

The resolution quotes from data supplied by Columbia University’s Middle East Institute’s NYC Project, which says the estimated Muslim population in the city is 600,000 people. According to the Coalition for Muslim School Holidays, 12 percent of NYC school students are Muslim, with 95 percent of Muslim school-age children attending public schools.

Councilman Leroy Comrie (D-Queens) told The Final Call it was a “no-brainer” to support Resolution 1281. “I have at least seven mosques in my district. It is important to show that we will do whatever we can to work with all communities,” the deputy speaker of the council said. “If you are part of the city then you should be respected and acknowledged as everyone else is,” Councilman Comrie added.

A blogger, commenting in the New York Sun, the newspaper that broke the story, said, “school closings were old union negotiated holidays from back in the day when many of the teachers and students were Jewish; and that there is now a different demographic in the city.”

The state Department of Education’s website lists the following school closings: Rosh Hashanah (two days), Good Friday; non-religious holidays are Columbus Day, Presidents Day, Election Day, Memorial Day and Martin Luther King Day. Calls to education officials were not returned.

Councilman Jackson said the resolution has been reported back to the city council Education Committee, which he chairs. “Right now the ball really is in the state’s court,” he said, referring to a bill sponsored by State Sen. John Sabini (D-Queens) and Assemblyman Rueben Diaz Jr. (D-Bronx). If passed, it would smother the city’s opposition by forcing the schools to close on both days—as New Jersey schools already do in Atlantic City, Irvington and Trenton.

Sen. Sabini has said in the past that the size of the Muslim population in NYC means it’s time to talk about recognizing Islamic holidays.

Councilman Jackson said the success of the bills also depends on the proactive stance of the Coalition for Muslim School Holidays. “The coalition has to get out and communicate with legislators who aren’t aboard yet,” he said.

The coalition, which comprises some 50 labor, religious, community and advocacy groups flexed its collective muscle after a Jan. 2006 statewide test was scheduled on Eid Ul-Adha. Muslim reaction was fierce enough to force legislators to pass a law preventing mandatory state testing from occurring on any religious holidays.

Dearbornistan KFC Now Serving Finger-Lickin' Halal Chicken

Never underestimate the amount of pandering corporate America will do for $$$$$.  Now the Dearbornistan (Dearborn, Michigan) Kentucky Fried Chicken has gone finger lickin-halal chicken. So its chicken is now served up with Islamic or muslim specifications - thus after the birds are slaughtered halal-style - they are sent to the KFC where the chickens are cooked in apartheid fryers.(away from the non-halal ones)

I never was crazy about KFC - the local one here is in the same building as Taco Bell - I refer to it as the "Cluck & Guck".  So, the remote chance that I may have ever chosen to eat at KFC has just "flown the coop".

To anyone who doubts that the Islamization of the United States is well underway - maybe this will be a cock-a-doodle-do wake-up-call. Entire article - emphasis mine:

Halal food lands on menus

It reflects growing interest by Muslims

BY NIRAJ WARIKOO • FREE PRESS STAFF WRITER • March 30, 2008

Growing up in Dearborn, Zeinab Chami often was tempted by ads for Col. Sanders' original recipe, the finger-lickin' meal sold by fast-food giant KFC.

However, Chami was an observant Muslim, and the restaurant's chicken was not halal, meaning it wasn't prepared according to Islamic law. Her choices usually were limited to what her immigrant parents cooked or the occasional takeout from Middle Eastern restaurants.

But now she's able to get a taste of KFC. Last month, the restaurant's east Dearborn restaurant began selling halal chicken, a change that reflects the growing demand for halal products among metro Detroit's sizable Muslim population.

Underneath the colonel's bearded face, the store's sign reads "Now serving halal original & crispy." The juxtaposition of an American icon with Islamic tradition is a striking display of the changing landscape of southeast Michigan. Halal meat is not new to Dearborn's butcher shops and Arab restaurants, but a growing number of national chains have been accommodating the local demand for Muslim food in recent years.

"A lot has changed just in the past decade," said Bilal Dabaja, 22, a Dearborn resident who eats halal. "More people want these products."

The change is similar to how the growing Jewish population decades ago led to kosher becoming part of the American food industry and vocabulary. The kosher symbols "K" and "U" can be seen today on everything from Heinz ketchup bottles to Fruity Pebbles cereal boxes.

Muslims hope to create a similar market for halal products.

In Dearborn, two McDonald's restaurants are the only ones selling halal Chicken McNuggets and sandwiches among about 13,700 McDonald's in the country. Ram's Horn, a local chain of diners, and Big Boy restaurants also serve halal meat in the city. And a manager at a Subway restaurant in Dearborn hopes it soon will become halal, but it is facing difficulties because of the chain's insistence on using uniform meat suppliers.

Many in the Muslim community welcome the restaurants' changes, but some are still reluctant to eat there because they haven't been vetted by Islamic scholars.

Halal is an Arabic word that generally refers to "what is permitted." Its opposite, haram, refers to what is forbidden.

Like Jews, Muslims don't eat pork. Halal also requires that during the slaughters, the animal must face Mecca, its blood be totally drained, and the butcher has to say a prayer invoking God.

Drinking alcohol is also considered not halal, and so some Muslims would refuse to eat at the now-defunct La Shish chain because they sold beer and wine.

There are varying interpretations among Islamic leaders as to what exactly is halal. And individuals make personal decisions on how to eat halal depending on strictly they observe Islam.

One challenge is determining if the meat is truly halal.

"A sign saying it's halal is not always enough," said Imam Mohammad Elahi, a religious scholar who heads the Islamic House of Wisdom in Dearborn Heights. "There needs to be other evidence."

A general rule is that if the preparer is Muslim and says the meat is halal, it's OK, But if the preparer is non-Muslim, you have to dig further to back up the claims.

In some cases, halal slaughterhouses are now using recordings of a man saying an Islamic prayer that repeats itself each time an animal is killed so that it's halal.

Chami, 23, wants to try KFC's chicken, but is reluctant because she hasn't seen how it's prepared. One concern that she and Dabaja have is whether KFC uses separate fryers for its halal and non-halal meat, because using the same fryer contaminates the halal. When Chami eats tuna or vegetarian sandwiches at Subway restaurants, she always asks the sandwich preparer to don another set of plastic gloves because they might have the taint of non-halal meats on them.

Store employees at the KFC and McDonald's in east Dearborn said they use separate fryers. At the Subway on Schaefer in Dearborn, manager Ramsey Hourani said he wants to make his store halal, but "it's a lot more difficult than it sounds" because of the company's insistence on restaurants using similar food suppliers.

In England, Subway is rolling out all-halal restaurants in up to 200 locations, according to Zabihah.com, a Web site that tracks halal restaurants around the world. Hourani hopes that one day, American stores can take a similar path.

For now, many Muslims often stick with halal products they find in Middle Eastern grocery stores such as halal marshmallow crispy treats.

But others are excited about the KFC restaurant in Dearborn. Tarek Baydoun, 23, of Dearborn, heard about the halal chicken through a friend's text message. This month, he went there with his family.

"It's a good value and it's very tasty," Baydoun said. "It was bound to happen because it just makes sense from a business perspective."

OBAMA'S FATHER WAS MUSLIM POLYGAMIST - QUESTIONS ARISE

Looks like Bill Clinton was right when he called Obama's story a "fairy tale" - it is.  Barack (Barry) Obama never talks about all the brothers and sisters he has in Africa - and he highly romaticized his father - who as it turns out was a polygamist - womanizer - alcoholic and wife beater.

Islamic law allows muslim men to have four wives - Even though bigamy is againt British laws - the peabrains in the UK recently decided that muslim men with four wives can have all four wives receive welfare benefits, child benefits, etc - they already have national health care.

This is also going on in the US and in most Western Countries - for more on this see my post - Take My Wives - Please! - Polygamy Comes To the Western World.

I just think it is a bit odd that the press pilloried recent Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney for Mormons having polygamy 100+ years ago - yet NO ONE talks about the current day muslims - living in the Western world - that more often than not have taxpayers footing the bill for their polygamy. And Baracks association with the muslim religion is often left unquestioned with the "racist" bomb being tossed at whoever dares to bring up the subject. (ie: Reverend Wright +)

That bring the next question - will Barack Obama- as President- be even more sympathetic to this and other muslim customs???  In some ways I don't blame him for thinking the best of his Dad - most kids do in even the worst of cirucumstances -- but the big difference here is Barack is running for President and his honesty is and should be vetted - as should his potential policies on the increasing Islamization of the Western Word.

Revealed: Obama's dad polygamist, alcoholic
Parent not hero portrayed in 'Dreams from My Father'

In his autobiographical book "Dreams from My Father," Barack Obama paints a heroic picture of his father as having emerged from a poor Kenyan village, where he was nothing more than a simple goat herder, to become a Harvard-educated economist, destined to return to Africa to fulfill his promise.

Unfortunately, the reality is much bleaker than the tale Obama tells in his book.

In truth, Barack Obama senior, Obama's father, was a polygamist who had already abandoned one wife and child in Africa when he met Obama's mother in Hawaii.

After being educated at Harvard, Obama senior returned to Africa, abandoning Obama and his mother, to live the life of a chronic alcoholic who ultimately killed himself in his second drink-induced car accident, while driving drunk on the streets of Nairobi.

The truth about Obama's father was first exposed by London's Daily Mail in a January 2007 exposé whose details remain unchallenged even today, as Obama leads in delegate count in the race for the Democratic Party's 2008 presidential election.

Sharon Churcher, the author of the Daily Mail's 2007 exposé, confirmed to WND today in a telephone interview from London that, as far as she knows, her original report remains accurate.

Rob Crilly, the free-lance journalist in Africa who did much of the on-site first-hand interviews with Obama Senior’s family and acquaintances in Kenya, also confirmed to WND in a telephone interview from Nairobi that he has learned of nothing since 2007 that would contradict the published 2007 Daily Mail story.

Obama begins his 1995 book "Dreams from My Father" with a scene from 1982, when Obama, having just turned 21, was shaken in his New York apartment by a phone call from Africa telling him his father had been killed in a car accident.

The narrative omits that Obama senior killed himself driving drunk.

A few pages later, Obama traces his father's history in Kenya back to the time he herded goats while attending the local "British colonial school."

Obama claims his father showed such "great promise" that he won a scholarship to study in Nairobi and then, "on the eve of Kenyan independence, he had been selected by Kenyan leaders and American sponsors to attend a University in the United States."

Obama proudly tells the reader his father joined "the first large wave of Africans to be sent forth to master Western technology and bring it back to forge a new, modern Africa."

Again, Obama carefully omits the underside of the story, that his father at age 23 headed off to a university education in Hawaii, abandoning the Africa girl named Kezia he had married at age 18.

Nor does Obama mention that Kezia was then pregnant with his father's first son.

Obama magnifies his father's time in Hawaii, claiming he arrived at the University of Hawaii as the institution's first African student who "studied econometrics, worked with unsurpassed concentration, and graduated in three years at the top of his class."

Obama notes his father's friends "were legion, and he helped organize the International Students Association, of which he became the first president."

He omits any mention of his father's continued success with women.

The Daily Mail again presented the underside of the story, reporting Obama senior was a "slick womanizer" who persuaded Obama's mother, a "naïve 18-year-old white girl, to marry him, without disclosing to her that he had left behind in Africa a wife he had not divorced."

Obama presents a Hollywood version of his parents' romance, claiming his father met his mother in a Russian-language course at the university, "an awkward, shy American girl, only 18, and they fell in love."

"The girl's parents, wary at first, were won over by his [Obama senior's] charm and intellect," Obama continues his narrative, "the young couple married, and she bore them a son, to whom he bequeathed his name."

So, Obama junior was born in August 1961.

Two years later, Obama senior won another scholarship, this time to pursue a Ph.D. at Harvard.

Obama explains his father's decision to abandon his mother and him in Hawaii by arguing that the scholarship from Harvard did not include "the money to take his new family with him."

In the next sentence, Obama intentionally skips over several key details.

After noting his father's decision to leave Hawaii for Cambridge, Mass., Obama explains: "A separation occurred, and he returned to Africa to fulfill his promise to the continent. The mother and child stayed behind, but the bond of love survived the distances …"

The ellipsis omits the fact that Obama's mother divorced his father when she discovered "his bigamous double life," the Daily Mail disclosed.

While at Harvard, Obama senior had an affair with yet another woman, an American-born teacher named Ruth, whom he met at Harvard while yet married to Obama's mother and to his also-abandoned wife in Africa.

Obama returned to Kenya and fathered two more children by Kezia.

Somewhere in that period, he also married Ruth, who followed him to Africa from Harvard.

The Daily Mail quotes a relative of Obama as saying, "We told him [Obama] how his father would still go to Kezia and it was during these visits that she became pregnant with two more children. He also had two children with Ruth."

The Daily Mail further reveals that Ruth finally left Obama senior "after he repeatedly flew into whiskey-fueled rages, beating her brutally."

"Friends say drinking blighted his [Obama senior's] life," the Daily Mail reported, "he lost both his legs while driving under the influence and also lost his job."

There ended Obama senior's brilliant civil service career as a top, Harvard-trained econometrician working in the newly independent government of Jomo Kenyatta, on a mission to bring his economically backward country into prosperity.

According to the Daily Mail, even after losing both legs in the car accident, Obama senior fathered yet another son, his eighth child, by yet another woman, and "continued to come home drunk."

Then, on Obama's 21st birthday, Obama senior put an end to the sad drama by killing himself in yet another car crash, once again driving drunk.

The Daily Mail quotes Kenyan writer Philip Ochieng as saying, "He [Obama senior] was excessively fond of Scotch. He had fallen into the habit of going home drunk every night. His boasting proved his undoing and left him without a job, plunged him into prolonged poverty and dangerously wounded his ego."

"He was a menace to life," Ochieng said. "He had many extremely serious accidents. Both his legs had to be amputated. They were replaced with crude false limbs made from iron."

"He was just like Mr. Toad [from the "Wind in the Willows" story]," wrote Ochieng, "very arrogant on the road, especially when he had whisky inside. I was not surprised when I learned how he died."

"Why didn't my father return?" is a question Obama admits in his autobiography has haunted him since the age of five or six.

In the autobiography, readers learn that Obama's Kenyan father was Muslim, only indirectly, when Obama explains to a girlfriend in Hawaii that his name was not "Barry," as he was then commonly called, but "Barack," a name Barack explains means "blessed" in Arabic.

He further explains that the name was his father's, and that "my grandfather was a Muslim."

In 1986, four years after his father's death, Obama went to Africa for the first time, to be confronted with the truth of his father's life and to meet half-brothers and half-sisters he never knew he had.

In Africa for the first time, Obama admits he was told the truth, perhaps for the first time in his life.

He recounts a conversation with Zeituni, his father's sister.

"Zeituni stopped walking and turned to me," Obama wrote in his autobiography. "'After your father went off to live with his American wife, Ruth … well, he would go to Kezia sometimes. You must understand that traditionally she was still his wife. It was during such a visit that Kezia became pregnant with Abo, the brother you haven't met. The thing was, Kezia also lived with another man briefly during this time. So when she became pregnant again, with Bernard, no one was sure who – ' Zeituni stopped, letting the thought finish itself."

While admitting he had learned the truth about his father when visiting Africa for the first time, Obama still sought to see his father as the victim.

Zeituni, for instance, explains that "the problem [with Obama senior] was that his heart was too big."

She also explains that Obama senior was the first to study abroad, the first who had ever ridden in an airplane, and had taken on too large a burden trying to help his family in Africa and to lift Kenya into a modern economic age.

As the Daily Mail concluded, "for all Mr. Obama's reputation for straight talking and the compelling narrative of his recollections, they are largely myth."

"We have discovered that his father was not just a flawed individual, but an abusive bigamist and an egomaniac, whose life was ruined not by racism or corruption, but by his own weakness,” the Daily Mail wrote. "And, devastatingly, the testimony has come from Mr. Obama's own relatives and family friends."

The Daily Mail suggests Obama chose to present his father in a favorable light as an electoral tactic.

"Indeed, by offering up a conveniently plotted account of his personal history in this way," Churcher wrote, "he [Obama] might even have made a pre-emptive strike on those sure to pose the awkward questions that inevitably face a serious contender for the White House."

Regardless of the motives, in "Dreams from my Father" Obama never states precisely how many wives his father had, or how many half-brothers and -sisters he has from different mothers, whether married to his father or not.

Obama blames racism for breaking up his parents' marriage, not his father's polygamist ways which began when he first left Africa, before he ever met Obama's mother in Hawaii.

In the final analysis, Obama embraces the myth, presenting his father as a victim who suffered because, as Zeituni explains in the autobiography, his "heart was too big" – not that he was a bureaucrat of modest achievement who could not overcome a fight with alcohol that ultimately cost him his life.

WALMART OPENS HALAL-MART IN DEARBORNISTAN

Well looks like Walmart, the world's largest retailer, has decided that ethnocentric pandering is the way to go in what once was the "melting pot" of America. The United States of America's successful centuries old melting pot of immigrants has, in recent years, turned into nothing more than a "chunky soup".  Now it looks like "America's store" is furthering the balkanization of the United States - all in the name of profit.

Walmart has decided to go full tilt into setting up the latest in its ethnocentrically targeted stores in Dearborn Michigan - whose mushrooming Islamic population has caused many to rename the city - Dearbornistan. Not only do many of the staff, of this big box store, speak Arabic - but the 650 employees are receiving "sensitivity training" how to best appease the muslim customers - also known as dhimmitude.

With such major help from this greedy international corporation, already accused of lowering wages and forcing thousands of American jobs overseas, is their sefish combination of pandering and profits going to become the downfall of Americanization? - Is this what the "new" America is becoming? Shall we soon be the Balkanized States of America? Do we really want or need a 20,000 sq. ft. giant retail store that is "akin to a farmers market in Beirut"?

Arab-America’s Store

Wal-Mart stocks falafel, olives and Islamic greeting cards to attract Dearborn's ethnic shoppers.

Big Bazaar: Arabic-speaking staff can guide customers to the Middle Eastern goods

As Arwa Hamad strolls a new Wal-Mart, an eight-foot display of olive oil stops her in her tracks. "Oh, wow," she says, marveling at the sight of so many gallons of Lebanese extra virgin. "We could go through one of these in a week in my house." Around the corner, row upon row of gallon jars of olives—from Turkey, Greece, Egypt and Lebanon—soak in deep hues of purple, red and green. "Look at the size of these olives," says the stay-at-home mother of three and native of Yemen. Hamad, 34, has shopped at Wal-Mart before, but never one like this. She is overcome with nostalgia as she spots Nido powdered milk and Al Haloub Cow, canned meat she calls the "Arabic Spam." "My father loves this," she says. "People from war-torn countries, this is what you lived on when you couldn't go out of the house to shop." This Wal-Mart, though, isn't in a war zone. It's in Dearborn, Mich., home to nearly a half-million Arab-Americans, the largest concentration of Arabs outside the Middle East.

As America changes, so does the store where America shops. In Dearborn this week, the world's largest retailer opens a store like no other among its 3,500 U.S. outlets. Walk through the front door of the 200,000-square-foot supercenter and instead of rows of checkout counters, you find a scene akin to a farmers market in Beirut. Twenty-two tables are stacked high with fresh produce like kusa and batenjan, squash and eggplant used in Middle Eastern dishes. Rimming the produce department are shelves filled with Arab favorites like mango juice from Egypt and vine leaves from Turkey used to make mehshi, or stuffed grape leaves. A walled-off section of the butcher case is devoted to Halal meats, slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law (when a Wal-Mart manager noticed the pork section was too prominent he ordered it moved, since Muslims don't eat pork). In the freezer case, you'll find frozen falafel. You can also pick up a CD from Lebanese pop singer Ragheb Alama or buy Muslim greeting cards.

Wal-Mart's Arab-American emporium provides a preview of the retail giant's latest strategy to boost business as it reaches the saturation point in its American expansion. Over the past two years, Wal-Mart has tested its "store of the community": it has stocked stores in Chicago and Atlanta with products aimed at African-Americans and set up a hitching post at an Ohio store near a large Amish community. The Dearborn store, though, is the most extreme example of the concept. Wal-Mart offers its standard fare, plus 550 items targeted at Middle Eastern shoppers. "In the past, Wal-Mart has been pretty cookie-cutter when it comes to merchandise," says Dearborn store manager Bill Bartell. "But this time, we really got to know the community. We're blazing a trail here."

Typically when Wal-Mart comes to town, it drops its big-box store on the community with a thud. Then it rolls out rock-bottom prices that undercut local merchants, who often wither and die. That Bigfooting has led to passionate community opposition in many markets, including suburban Detroit, where it opened its first supercenter just a year ago to protests over plans to stay open 24 hours (Wal-Mart backed down to 18 hours a day).

To fit into this bastion of ethnic tradition, Wal-Mart started two years ago to meet with imams and moms, conducting focus groups at Middle Eastern restaurants. Wal-Mart learned the community wasn't as concerned about seeing Arabic-language signs as they were with dealing with Arabic-speaking staff. So Bartell hired about 35 Arabic speakers, including Suehaila Amen, a local middle-school teacher who is providing ethnic-sensitivity training to the 650 employees. He also learned not to bother stocking traditional Muslim clothing, like the headscarf, or hijab, Amen wears. "The community told us, 'I would not feel comfortable coming to Wal-Mart to buy my hijab'," says assistant store manager Jordan Berke. "We're not here to overstep our bounds."

Despite the sensitive sell, local shopkeepers still worry about Wal-Mart. "There is a fear factor in the business community," says Osama Siblani, publisher of Dearborn's Arab American News. To allay those fears, Wal-Mart is making an extraordinary promise: it will not undercut the prices of the small local merchants (though it will still go after Kroger). The insular company even agreed to be scrutinized by a "community advisory board" made up of local Arab-American leaders to ensure it isn't harming the mom-and-pop shops. One example: Wal-Mart agreed to charge one dime more than local grocers for a six-pack of pita bread.

Arwa Hamad says her devotion to Dearborn's Muslim merchants doesn't simply rest on one thin dime. After all, when her husband goes to their Arab butcher, he buys in bulk. "It's hard to get half a lamb at Wal-Mart," she says. And yet, the more she wanders the aisles, the more she likes. There are the Turkish sweets and dried dates her kids love, and the Nescafé coffee she adores. "This brings back memories from home," she says. "I'll never forget Mustafa's corner store, but as soon as this place opens, I'm coming here with my checkbook." Going native just might be the next way Wal-Mart wins.

ALLAH SHOES GET THE BOOT

Yet another example of imported retail products finding their way to the muslim marketplace - and giving the followers of the Religion of Perpetual Outrage further excuse to demonstrate their distress and anger. The latest "offensive to muslims" items (add them to the long list) are "knock-off" sport shoes with the inscription of Allah in Arabic.

Seems like muslims have an odd relationship with shoes. Shoe bottoms are considered an egregious social faux pas in muslimland - "The shoe represents the lowest part of the body (the foot) and displaying or throwing a shoe at someone or something in Arab cultures denotes that the person or thing is "beneath them." Showing the bottom of one's feet or shoes (for example, putting one's feet up on a table or desk) in Arab cultures is considered an extreme insult."

THE ABOVE IS A BIG INSULT TO MUSLIMS

Yet it's apparent that some muslims have no problem using shoes to hide explosive devices that would have blown up an airplane full of innocent people.

Muslim shoe bomber Richard Reid has "no regrets" that he gave a new meaning to the term "hot foot"

As well as thousands of muslims, in Islamic countries from Asia to the Middle East, had no problems using their shoes to repeatedly beat an effigy of US President George W. Bush during one of their regular "Death to America" rallys.

An Indian Muslim carries an effigy of President Bush on his shoulder before burning it during a protest of Bush's visit to India.

Shoe-less? muslims

Certainly it has been repeatedly shown that muslim suicide bombers have no compucture about blowing OTHER people out of their shoes - as the recent and tragic deaths of 68 Iraqis. OR the horrific 7/7 bus bombings in the UK which killed 52 innocents - just to cite two sad examples.

-Thus it is quite ironic that when the "shoe is on the other foot" that muslims have no hesitation in using their feet/shoes in less than reputable ways to insult and harm the kaffir.  So it is not in the least surprising that much of the western world sees the adherents of Islam as violent, murderous barbarians and leads us, in conclusion, to point out to the Islamists- "if the shoe fits - wear it".

(ANSAmed) - ALGIERS, MARCH 10 - Over 170 pairs of sports shoes with the inscription Allah in Arabic were seized by the Algerian police after the reports of many people stunned by this product considered offensive for the Muslims. The shoes, counterfeit Adidas made in China, have been found in many Algerian markets, in particular in Skikda (east), Algiers and Tizi Ouzou, daily Liberte reports. A real controversy sparked off on many blogs used mainly by young Algerians. "What does it mean? That those who wear these shoes trample on Allah," somebody say, while others ask themselves who is behind the making of this product. Some pairs of jeans with the inscription Allah in Arabic on one pocket are also under accusation. "Must we sit on Allah?". "Do we know to what insults of this type to the Muslims lead?," Liberte underlines, reminding of the cartoons on the Prophet Muhammad and the anger of the Islamic world. (ANSAmed).

TAKE MY WIVES PLEASE! POLYGAMY HEADS TO THE WESTERN WORLD

Excellent article from Pajamas Media- that I wanted to pass-along

Take My Wives, Please: Polygamy Heads West

The emergent phenomenon of Muslim men taking multiple wives should be a cause for worry in the Western world, warns David J. Rusin.

By David J. Rusin

Myra Morton approached her sleeping husband on the morning of August 5, 2007, with pain in her heart and a gun in her hand. Once the smoke had cleared at the couple’s upscale home just outside Philadelphia, a man would lay dead, a family secret would be exposed, and a spotlight would shine on the emergent phenomenon of Islamic polygamy in the Western world.

The slaying took place just hours before Jereleigh Morton was scheduled to leave for Morocco on a mission to impregnate his other wife, Zahra Toural. Niqab-clad Myra, a convert to Islam two decades earlier, acceded to his bond with the younger woman, whom he had met online in late 2006. Privately, however, the 47-year-old mother was shattered, recording her dismay in a journal and lamenting to friends that she no longer received attention. Myra even mailed a letter to immigration officials falsely claiming that Toural had terrorist ties and should thus be prohibited from entering the country. Her husband’s plan to conceive is apparently what sent her over the edge.

Islam did not kill Jereleigh Morton; Myra Morton did. She bears full responsibility for her brutal deed and should be punished accordingly. Regardless of the circumstances, murder is anathema to Western legal and moral standards. Yet so too is polygamy. Recent evidence, however, indicates that governments tend to look the other way as the conjugal mores of seventh-century Arabia — and the problems that travel with them — take root in our backyards. Just as Myra Morton faces justice in a court of law, these drowsy cultural watchdogs must be made to answer in the court of public opinion.

The prevalence of polygamy among Muslims living in the West remains a matter of debate. Here is a sampling of what has been reported: As many as thirty thousand Muslim families in France include more than one wife. There are fifteen thousand in Italy and several thousand in Great Britain. Estimates for the United States typically run into the tens of thousands. Even Australia has been forced to crack down on Muslim men looking to meet potential second wives via the internet.

Individual cases often come to light unexpectedly through high-impact media events such as the Morton saga. Another example is the tragic Bronx house fire that killed ten people on March 7, 2007. Moussa Magassa, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Mali who lost five of his children in the blaze, was discovered to have two wives living a floor apart. A subsequent investigation by the New York Times found polygamy to be an open secret in his immigrant community, with agencies that serve it adhering to a policy of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

Lack of official curiosity is just one reason for the poor statistics. Practitioners also labor to avoid scrutiny. Two strategies are common. Some Muslim men with additional wives living abroad arrange for relatives to sponsor visas that can bring them to the West without raising red flags. Others find second, third, or even fourth wives locally, sealing the deal in a nikah ceremony conducted by an imam. Because such marriages are performed under the state’s radar and have no legal standing, the wives enjoy none of the rights guaranteed to spousal partners.

Concern about Islamic polygamy — whether in the West or East — has naturally been dismissed in some quarters as cultural imperialism. For example, Duke University professor Miriam Cooke argues that “polygamy can be liberating and empowering.” As Kay Hymowitz explains in City Journal, “Some women, [Cooke] continued, are relieved when their husbands take a new wife: they won’t have to service him so often. Or they might find they now have the freedom to take a lover. But, I ask, wouldn’t that be dangerous in places where adulteresses can be stoned to death? At any rate, how common is that? ‘I don’t know,’ Cooke answers, ‘I’m interested in discourse.’”

Two nations have apparently skipped the “discourse” and moved straight to capitulation. Following a yearlong review, the British government has ruled that husbands can claim benefits for multiple wives, as long as the marriages are legal in the countries where they were conducted. Specifically, guidelines issued by the Department for Work and Pensions regarding the jobseeker’s allowance state: “Where there is a valid polygamous marriage the claimant and one spouse will be paid the couple rate (£92.80). The amount payable for each additional spouse is presently £33.65.”

A similar arrangement exists in parts of Canada. According to the Toronto Sun, “Hundreds of [Greater Toronto Area] Muslim men in polygamous marriages … are receiving welfare and social benefits for each of their spouses, thanks to the city and province, Muslim leaders say. Mumtaz Ali, president of the Canadian Society of Muslims, said wives in polygamous marriages are recognized as spouses under the Ontario Family Act Law, providing they were legally married under Muslim laws abroad.”

Why should the introduction of — and increasing tolerance toward — Islamic polygamy be a cause for worry in the West?

First, like so many facets of sharia, Islamic family law codifies inequality and thus contravenes both the letter and the spirit of Western jurisprudence. While guidelines that reference polygamy, such as those now regulating welfare benefits in the UK, typically employ general-neutral language, there can be little doubt regarding the very gender-specific nature of the institution as it exists among Muslims. By tacitly recognizing this practice, governments offer their imprimatur to sex discrimination.

Second, Nonie Darwish and Phyllis Chesler have noted that polygamy, when combined with other misogynistic provisions of sharia, breeds societal dysfunction. Plural unions not only inspire distrust between spouses and heightened competition among offspring. Children also learn from an early age that females are unworthy of exclusive affection and therefore hold less value than males. Moreover, if common, polygamy creates legions of unhappily unmarried young men who are ripe for radicalization.

Third, polygamy is illegal in virtually every Western state. Men who partake in such marriages while residing in the West or circumvent immigration rules to gain entry for additional spouses are law-breakers, plain and simple. Which other statutes might they feel comfortable violating in the name of their imported traditions? The mixed message sent by government bureaucrats is particularly damaging in this context. Their multicultural nonchalance undermines both the legal system itself and the foundational values that laws are intended to reflect and secure.

Fourth, the push to normalize polygamy is yet another front in the Islamists’ campaign of inches. Its acceptance would serve as a powerful salient, paving the way for the further implementation of sharia principles. This slippery slope is not lost on Tory shadow secretary Chris Grayling. Discussing the welfare imbroglio, he observed that extending payouts to multiple wives “sets a precedent that will lead to more demands for the culture of other countries to be reflected in UK law.”

While Grayling sounds the alarm in Britain, a few European nations have already enacted policies designed to combat polygamous unions. The Telegraph reported in 2004 that Ireland “has ordered all men from Islamic countries seeking residency to sign a sworn affidavit rejecting polygamy. … A man must swear he has ‘one spouse only’ and ‘has no intention of entering into a simultaneous marriage.’” Likewise, the Italian interior ministry has asked Muslim groups to agree to a “values charter” that promotes monogamous families and the equality of women.

Contrary to defeatist pronouncements by Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, these examples demonstrate that the arrival of sharia law in the West is not “unavoidable.” It can and will be avoided if the public musters the resolve to beat it back. As Daniel Pipes noted regarding the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ sudden abandonment of Muslim cabbies who object to serving passengers with seeing-eye dogs, widespread outrage is the best disinfectant. “When Westerners broadly agree on rejecting a specific Islamic law or tradition and unite against it, Western Islamists must adjust to the majority’s will.”

Simply put, the choice is ours: defend a hard-won heritage of freedom and equality, or continue slouching toward sharia. Pray that we choose wisely.

17,000 WOMEN VICTIMS OF HONOR VIOLENCE IN THE UK

There is NO way that the facts presented below can be mitigated by even the most ardent muslim apologist.

These are the "enhancements" that muslims bring with them to EVERY country where they immigrate.

A question of honour: Police say 17,000 women are victims every year

Ministers are stepping up the fight against so-called 'honour' crime and forced marriages. Detectives say official statistics are 'merely the tip of the iceberg' of this phenomenon. Brian Brady investigates

Sunday, 10 February 2008

Up to 17,000 women in Britain are being subjected to "honour" related violence, including murder, every year, according to police chiefs.

And official figures on forced marriages are the tip of the iceberg, says the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).

It warns that the number of girls falling victim to forced marriages, kidnappings, sexual assaults, beatings and even murder by relatives intent on upholding the "honour" of their family is up to 35 times higher than official figures suggest.

The crisis, with children as young as 11 having been sent abroad to be married, has prompted the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to call on British consular staff in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan to take more action to identify and help British citizens believed to be the victims of forced marriages in recent years.

The Home Office is drawing up an action plan to tackle honour-based violence which "aims to improve the response of police and other agencies" and "ensure that victims are encouraged to come forward with the knowledge that they will receive the help and support they need". And a Civil Protection Bill coming into effect later this year will give courts greater guidance on dealing with forced marriages.

Commander Steve Allen, head of ACPO's honour-based violence unit, says the true toll of people falling victim to brutal ancient customs is "massively unreported" and far worse than is traditionally accepted. "We work on a figure which suggests it is about 500 cases shared between us and the Forced Marriage Unit per year," he said: "If the generally accepted statistic is that a victim will suffer 35 experiences of domestic violence before they report, then I suspect if you multiplied our reporting by 35 times you may be somewhere near where people's experience is at." His disturbing assessment, made to a committee of MPs last week, comes amid a series of gruesome murders and attacks on British women at the hands of their relatives.

Marilyn Mornington, a district judge and chair of the Domestic Violence Working Group, warned that fears of retribution, and the authorities' failure to understand the problem completely, meant the vast majority of victims were still too scared to come forward for help. In evidence to the home affairs committee, which is investigating the problem, she said: "We need a national strategy to identify the large number of pupils, particularly girls, missing from school registers who have been taken off the register and are said to be home schooled, which leads to these issues. Airport staff and other staff need to be trained to recognise girls who are being taken out of the country.

"We are bringing three girls a week back from Islamabad as victims of forced marriage. We know that is the tip of the iceberg, but that is the failure end. It has to be part of education within the communities and the children themselves."

Women who have been taken overseas to be married against their will are now being rescued on an almost daily basis. The Government's Forced Marriage Unit (FMU) handled approximately 400 cases last year – 167 of them leading to young Britons being helped back to the UK to escape unwanted partners overseas. And it is not just women who are affected. Home Office figures show that 15 per cent of cases involve men and boys.

In an attempt to crack down on the crimes being committed in the name of honour, police are to introduce a new training package that will give all officers instructions on handling honour cases. In addition, detectives are believed to be conducting a "cold case" style review of previous suicides amid suspicions that cases of honour killings are more common than previously thought.

Almost all victims of the most extreme crimes are women, killed in half of cases by their own husbands. Sometimes murders are carried out by other male relatives, or even hired killers. The fear that many thousands are left to endure honour violence alone may be supported by the disturbing details of the incidence of suicide within the British Asian community. Women aged 16 to 24 from Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi backgrounds are three times more likely to kill themselves than the national average for women of their age.

A report published last week by the Centre for Social Cohesion found that many women felt unable to defy their families and therefore "suffer violence, abuse, depression, anxiety and other psychological problems that can lead to self-harm, schizophrenia and suicide". James Brandon, co-author of Crimes of the Community: Honour-based Violence in the UK, said: "The Government is still not taking honour crime seriously. Until this happens, the ideas of honour which perpetuate this violence will continue to be passed on through generations. Religious leaders, local authorities and central government must work together to end such abuses of human rights."

The human cost of honour crime was vividly captured in a haunting video message from murdered Banaz Mahmood, who revealed how her own father had tried to kill her after she abandoned her arranged marriage and fell in love with another man. In the grainy message she told how he plied her with brandy – the first time she had ever drunk alcohol – pulled the curtains and asked her to turn around.

The 19-year-old fled, but less than a month after making the grainy video on a mobile phone, Banaz was dead. Her naked body was found buried in a yard in Birmingham in 2006, more than 100 miles from her London home. She had been raped and tortured by men hired by her uncle to kill her. Mahmood's father, uncle and one of her killers were sentenced to a total of 60 years in jail for the murder.

And the fatal potential of honour disputes was laid bare last month when a coroner said he was convinced that a Muslim teenager who feared she was being forced into an arranged marriage by her parents had suffered a "vile murder." Ian Smith said the concept of an arranged marriage was "central" to the circumstances leading up to the death of 17-year-old Shafilea Ahmed, whose decomposed body was discovered on the banks of the River Kent at Sedgwick, Cumbria, four years ago. After running away from home in February 2003, Shafilea told housing officers: "My parents are going to send me to Pakistan and I'll be married to someone and left there." The tragic story of the bright teenager who wanted to go to university and study law is far from the only example of the anguish suffered by British teenagers in recent years.

Toafiq Wahab, British consul in Dhaka, Bangladesh, recalls a "rescue mission" to recover a 17-year-old who called his office from Sylhet. "We had to track her down and 36 hours from taking that call, we had turned up at her house with an armed police escort," he said. "The house was filled with over 20 of her relations, most of whom were from Britain and stunned to see me. They obviously did not want her to leave. We simply asked her if she wanted to leave and go back to the UK in the presence of all her family and she agreed. I then spoke to the family and explained what we were doing and tried to make them understand. In the end, we had to get the police to assist in helping us to leave."

Former Bradford policeman Philip Balmforth, who works with vulnerable Asian women, said he saw 395 cases of forced marriage in the city last year. "I had a case of a 14-year-old girl at school," he recalled. "The teacher tells me that the girl claims to have been married. So I went along to the school with a Muslim colleague. We saw the girl. We asked her a few questions and we were not sure. Then the girl said: 'If you don't believe me I have the video at home.'"

In Bradford alone, a total of 250 girls aged between 13 and 16 were taken off the school rolls last year because they failed to return from trips abroad. Campaigners suspect many were victims of forced marriages.

"If contacted by concerned young British men and women in the UK, the FMU provides free and confidential advice on the potential dangers of being forced into marriage overseas and precautions to take to help avoid this happening," said a Foreign Office spokesperson last night. "If we learn that a British national overseas is being forced into marriage, or has already been forced into marriage, we look at various means of consular assistance ranging from action through the courts to rescue missions."

"The FMU can also help to arrange accommodation for victims for when they return to the UK and can refer victims to counselling and supports groups, legal centres, and so on.

"When it is necessary, the FMU and our embassies and high commissions work closely with the police and judiciary overseas in order to organise emergency rescue and repatriation missions."

Britain's hidden scandal

The kidnap victim

In June 2000 Narina Anwar, 29, and her two sisters claim they were tricked by their parents into going on a family holiday to a remote village in Pakistan, where they were held captive for five months in an attempt to force them to marry three illiterate villagers. The sisters fled to Lahore and contacted the British High Commission, which persuaded their parents to hand over their children's passports so they could return home.

The 'slave'

Gina Singh, 28, sued her former mother-in-law for £35,000 in 2006 after she was forced to work 17 hours a day around the house. Ms Singh, from Nottingham, was forbidden to leave the house on her own after an arranged marriage in 2002.

The runaway wife

In 1983, Zana Muhsen and her sister Nadia, from Birmingham, were pushed by their father to visit Yemen and forced to marry. Zana, now 35, escaped eight years later. Her father had sold her for a few thousand dollars. The experience is recounted in her book, 'Sold'.

The murder victim

Surjit Athwal disappeared with Bachan Athwal, her mother-in-law, after a family wedding in India in 1998. Her body was never found. Bachan later boasted that she arranged for her son, Sukhdave, to murder Surjit after finding out that she was having an affair.

The attempted suicide

Shafilea Ahmed was the victim of a suspected honour killing. The 17-year-old's body was found months after she had returned from a trip to Pakistan in 2003. On the trip she drank bleach. The coroner said he saw it as a 'desperate measure' to avoid a forced marriage
