TAKE MY WIVES PLEASE! POLYGAMY HEADS TO THE WESTERN WORLD

Excellent article from Pajamas Media- that I wanted to pass-along

Take My Wives, Please: Polygamy Heads West

The emergent phenomenon of Muslim men taking multiple wives should be a cause for worry in the Western world, warns David J. Rusin.

By David J. Rusin

Myra Morton approached her sleeping husband on the morning of August 5, 2007, with pain in her heart and a gun in her hand. Once the smoke had cleared at the couple’s upscale home just outside Philadelphia, a man would lay dead, a family secret would be exposed, and a spotlight would shine on the emergent phenomenon of Islamic polygamy in the Western world.

The slaying took place just hours before Jereleigh Morton was scheduled to leave for Morocco on a mission to impregnate his other wife, Zahra Toural. Niqab-clad Myra, a convert to Islam two decades earlier, acceded to his bond with the younger woman, whom he had met online in late 2006. Privately, however, the 47-year-old mother was shattered, recording her dismay in a journal and lamenting to friends that she no longer received attention. Myra even mailed a letter to immigration officials falsely claiming that Toural had terrorist ties and should thus be prohibited from entering the country. Her husband’s plan to conceive is apparently what sent her over the edge.

Islam did not kill Jereleigh Morton; Myra Morton did. She bears full responsibility for her brutal deed and should be punished accordingly. Regardless of the circumstances, murder is anathema to Western legal and moral standards. Yet so too is polygamy. Recent evidence, however, indicates that governments tend to look the other way as the conjugal mores of seventh-century Arabia — and the problems that travel with them — take root in our backyards. Just as Myra Morton faces justice in a court of law, these drowsy cultural watchdogs must be made to answer in the court of public opinion.

The prevalence of polygamy among Muslims living in the West remains a matter of debate. Here is a sampling of what has been reported: As many as thirty thousand Muslim families in France include more than one wife. There are fifteen thousand in Italy and several thousand in Great Britain. Estimates for the United States typically run into the tens of thousands. Even Australia has been forced to crack down on Muslim men looking to meet potential second wives via the internet.

Individual cases often come to light unexpectedly through high-impact media events such as the Morton saga. Another example is the tragic Bronx house fire that killed ten people on March 7, 2007. Moussa Magassa, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Mali who lost five of his children in the blaze, was discovered to have two wives living a floor apart. A subsequent investigation by the New York Times found polygamy to be an open secret in his immigrant community, with agencies that serve it adhering to a policy of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

Lack of official curiosity is just one reason for the poor statistics. Practitioners also labor to avoid scrutiny. Two strategies are common. Some Muslim men with additional wives living abroad arrange for relatives to sponsor visas that can bring them to the West without raising red flags. Others find second, third, or even fourth wives locally, sealing the deal in a nikah ceremony conducted by an imam. Because such marriages are performed under the state’s radar and have no legal standing, the wives enjoy none of the rights guaranteed to spousal partners.

Concern about Islamic polygamy — whether in the West or East — has naturally been dismissed in some quarters as cultural imperialism. For example, Duke University professor Miriam Cooke argues that “polygamy can be liberating and empowering.” As Kay Hymowitz explains in City Journal, “Some women, [Cooke] continued, are relieved when their husbands take a new wife: they won’t have to service him so often. Or they might find they now have the freedom to take a lover. But, I ask, wouldn’t that be dangerous in places where adulteresses can be stoned to death? At any rate, how common is that? ‘I don’t know,’ Cooke answers, ‘I’m interested in discourse.’”

Two nations have apparently skipped the “discourse” and moved straight to capitulation. Following a yearlong review, the British government has ruled that husbands can claim benefits for multiple wives, as long as the marriages are legal in the countries where they were conducted. Specifically, guidelines issued by the Department for Work and Pensions regarding the jobseeker’s allowance state: “Where there is a valid polygamous marriage the claimant and one spouse will be paid the couple rate (£92.80). The amount payable for each additional spouse is presently £33.65.”

A similar arrangement exists in parts of Canada. According to the Toronto Sun, “Hundreds of [Greater Toronto Area] Muslim men in polygamous marriages … are receiving welfare and social benefits for each of their spouses, thanks to the city and province, Muslim leaders say. Mumtaz Ali, president of the Canadian Society of Muslims, said wives in polygamous marriages are recognized as spouses under the Ontario Family Act Law, providing they were legally married under Muslim laws abroad.”

Why should the introduction of — and increasing tolerance toward — Islamic polygamy be a cause for worry in the West?

First, like so many facets of sharia, Islamic family law codifies inequality and thus contravenes both the letter and the spirit of Western jurisprudence. While guidelines that reference polygamy, such as those now regulating welfare benefits in the UK, typically employ general-neutral language, there can be little doubt regarding the very gender-specific nature of the institution as it exists among Muslims. By tacitly recognizing this practice, governments offer their imprimatur to sex discrimination.

Second, Nonie Darwish and Phyllis Chesler have noted that polygamy, when combined with other misogynistic provisions of sharia, breeds societal dysfunction. Plural unions not only inspire distrust between spouses and heightened competition among offspring. Children also learn from an early age that females are unworthy of exclusive affection and therefore hold less value than males. Moreover, if common, polygamy creates legions of unhappily unmarried young men who are ripe for radicalization.

Third, polygamy is illegal in virtually every Western state. Men who partake in such marriages while residing in the West or circumvent immigration rules to gain entry for additional spouses are law-breakers, plain and simple. Which other statutes might they feel comfortable violating in the name of their imported traditions? The mixed message sent by government bureaucrats is particularly damaging in this context. Their multicultural nonchalance undermines both the legal system itself and the foundational values that laws are intended to reflect and secure.

Fourth, the push to normalize polygamy is yet another front in the Islamists’ campaign of inches. Its acceptance would serve as a powerful salient, paving the way for the further implementation of sharia principles. This slippery slope is not lost on Tory shadow secretary Chris Grayling. Discussing the welfare imbroglio, he observed that extending payouts to multiple wives “sets a precedent that will lead to more demands for the culture of other countries to be reflected in UK law.”

While Grayling sounds the alarm in Britain, a few European nations have already enacted policies designed to combat polygamous unions. The Telegraph reported in 2004 that Ireland “has ordered all men from Islamic countries seeking residency to sign a sworn affidavit rejecting polygamy. … A man must swear he has ‘one spouse only’ and ‘has no intention of entering into a simultaneous marriage.’” Likewise, the Italian interior ministry has asked Muslim groups to agree to a “values charter” that promotes monogamous families and the equality of women.

Contrary to defeatist pronouncements by Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, these examples demonstrate that the arrival of sharia law in the West is not “unavoidable.” It can and will be avoided if the public musters the resolve to beat it back. As Daniel Pipes noted regarding the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ sudden abandonment of Muslim cabbies who object to serving passengers with seeing-eye dogs, widespread outrage is the best disinfectant. “When Westerners broadly agree on rejecting a specific Islamic law or tradition and unite against it, Western Islamists must adjust to the majority’s will.”

Simply put, the choice is ours: defend a hard-won heritage of freedom and equality, or continue slouching toward sharia. Pray that we choose wisely.

MUSLIM PEDOPHILES RAPE UK TAXPAYERS

More outraged inflicted upon the British people by 5 Somali muslims and former asylum seeker who have been found guilty of rape and sexual activity with children.

That in and of itself is abhorrent enough - five perverts go to the UK for supposed safety and return the hospitality by raping their children.  But another rape has also taken place - the rape of the UK taxpayers who have to pay for the legal aid and the ridiculous 5 "private" interpreters.

These rapists were allowed into the UK courtesy of NuLabour's open door policy of coddling any dregs who happen to turn up and whine that they need asylum. Then the taxpayers get to pay for their housing, food, haircuts, clothing, etc etc whilst the government drags its feet in determining the veracity of said asylum seekers - fearful of violating the EU Human Rights laws. In the meantime men, such as these slimes, inflict crime and havoc.

Then, once arrested for their crimes, the taxpayers get to dole out more of hard earned money to solicitors and translators. Cost to criminals? = ZERO ( I won't even bring up what the phenomenal cost of providing translators to immigrants is costing the NHS & British cities and towns)

Now the British taxpayers get to pay for these criminals whilst they do their prison sentences and one would hope they would be swiftly deported thereafter ................................but taking from what Judge Joy's final statement says - no other country will want these degenerates thus the British can expect these pedophiles to be living off the taxpayers and roaming their streets for decades.

THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS!

Paedophile gang racked up 25,000 legal aid bill by demanding FIVE interpreters

A judge has spoken out over the £25,000 legal bill racked up by a members of a paedophile gang who asked for five different interpreters - all to translate the same language.

Judge Martin Joy said the five men, all refugees from Sudan, had cost British taxpayers a total of £125,000 for the interpreters and individual barristers, all supplied by legal aid.

The judge spoke out after a jury at Maidstone Crown Court found one of the men guilty of rape and all five guilty of sexual activity with a child.

They had attacked two schoolgirls aged 13 in Dartford and Gravesend, Kent last summer.

Judge Joy told them: "It is quite plain you have exploited the most civilised aspect of this country throughout this trial, despite the fact that some of you have been in this country for several years.

"The bill for interpretation alone is a minimum of £25,000. Add to that are some eight pre-trial court management hearings and, no doubt, conferences at the prisons.

"It seems to me you have exploited the hospitality this country has to offer."

The judge added: "You came to this country to seek political asylum. No doubt you came to this country because you regarded it as a safe country.

"However, because of your conduct, this country becomes less safe."

Juma Saleh, 19, Mohamud Jimale, 20, Dawt Kefle, 18, and Mahder Zeregergis, 19, were convicted of two counts of sexual activity with a child.

Adil Aboulkadir, 33, was found guilty rape and three counts of sexual activity with a child.

The gang now await sentencing and could face deportation once they are released from prison, though Judge Joy said it would be difficult to find a country that would welcome them.

BY GOLLY - NO GOLLIES - THE PC DOLL WAR CONTINUES

Abit off topic but yet pertinent in addressing what seems to be the never ending idiotic and out of control political correctness war on British institutions that has descended all the way down to a dolls and toys.

It is noted that this little stuffed animated persona is NOT the teddy bear, named Mohammed, that has caused the
near beheading of a British teacher by bloodthirsty outraged muslims. OR the innocent piggy bank that has been a traditional give-a-way to children upon opening their first bank account - now banned due to offending - who else but the muslims.

Nope this is the little golly who used to adorn jampots and is a stuffed toy that has been carried around and tucked into bed with British children of ALL colors - for generations. Yet supposedly one pea brained individual can snap their "offended" fingers and deny a market trader her livelihood as well as her customers from purchasing a British tradition.

In the upside down NuLabour/EU Politically Correct world it is the bottom rung individual that tells the majority what they can and cannot do, say or even tuck into their children's beds.

Market trader forced to remove Gollies after single resident raises objection

Race row: A Golly similar to the dolls sold by Ms Richmond at her market stall

A market trader who made a brisk trade in Gollies has been ordered to remove the dolls from her stall after a single complaint.

Jennifer Richmond was told to take the Gollies off display at her gift stall at the Leyland Indoor Market, Lancashire, when a resident objected to their sale on racial grounds.

Ms Richmond said she had sold 200 of the dolls in the last few months showing the Gollies had become a popular feature of her market stall.

But councillors disagreed and suggested she remove them.

Ms Richmond said: "There is nothing racist about the Gollies at all. We have three Asian stallholders on the market and none of them find the dolls offensive.

"A lot of people like them because they were popular in their youth and we have sold hundreds since we got them in about five months ago.

"It's farcical, we wouldn't be selling them if they were wrong and we checked with the wholesalers first - they are laughing at the situation.

"We've even put handcuffs on one Golly in case the police come to take him away like they did when they raided a shop in Manchester.

"It is probably someone who does not know they are legal. One petty person has opened a stupid can of worms and it has been blown out of all proportion."

The Golly was originally a children's literary character from the 19th century and was adopted as a mascot by a jam manufacturer in 1910, before being dropped in 2001.

They have since become collectors items, but have courted controversy over their perceived racial connotations.

She added: "We have been here for about two years and do very well. The dolls range in size and you can buy them from £18.50 to £3 for the smallest ones.

"There is no law against them, they are not illegal and we want to be able to put them back on display as soon as possible."

Councillor Colin Clark, deputy leader of South Ribble Borough Council, said: "We received a complaint last week from a resident who objected to the sale of these dolls.

"We referred these concerns to the stallholder and suggested that the dolls be removed from display while we investigated the complaint."

UK MUSLIM GROUP REJECTS DEMOCRACY SAYS ISLAM IS THE ANSWER

How ironic that a large group of muslims were allowed, by virtue of their freedom of speech in the UK, to use that freedom to denounce democracy as being a "waste of time" and consider those who partake of the democratic system are "sell outs who do NOTHING to further muslim values - Sharia Law.

Dr Abdul Wahid, the leader of the radical Islamist group - Hizb ut Tahrir - rejects democracy as unIslamic and instead feels a Caliphate would be better.  Muslims are superior he proclaims and adherence to religion is better than than freedom of speech.  Hizb ut Tahrir has
been banned in nearly every Arab state, Germany, Russia and the Muslim states of Central Asia — Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan — oddly enough most DEMOCRATIC countries do not yet ban the "Hizbubbers". (Even after inciting British muslims to fight British and Allied soldiers and a plethora of other hideous demands and insults)

Wahid then went on to proclaim that only Islam is the answer to the "moral crisis" in the UK.  Now what moral crisis is he referring to?? The one where
young women are murdered like halal goats because they "dishonoured" some societally deviant muslim man - (ie: talking to another man, not consenting to forced marraige, not wearing the niqab)?  Or the horrific crisis of a bag of crispsOr those pesky muslim racist attacks against the white British?  Or maybe it is blowing up innocent people in the name of Allah?

It would seem that the biggest cause of the UK's so called "moral crisis" in not for lack of Islam but BECAUSE OF ISLAM.

Muslim pressure group wins anti-democracy vote

27 February 2008
By Ted Jeory

AROUND 150 Muslims voted with the leader of the radical Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir that taking part in the political process is a waste of time.

A packed audience at a controversial debate at the London Muslim Centre in Whitechapel on Tuesday night was overwhelmingly persuaded by Dr Abdul Wahid's argument to reject democracy.

But Tower Hamlets council is now considering cutting off all £38,000 funding to the Cordoba Foundation, the event organisers, because they allowed Dr Wahid to speak.

The leader of the British wing of Hizb ut-Tahrir was applauded as he called on Muslims to work outside the political system and concentrate on grass roots initiatives such as building madrassas and mosques.

He also attacked Muslim MPs including Sadiq Khan for voting for gay rights and failing to defend Muslim Sharia laws.

Muslims who joined mainstream political parties were "selling out" their morals and principles, he insisted, adding that only Islam was the solution to a moral crisis in Britain.

He cited binge-drinking, even among 'Muslim youths', when he urged the audience: "Why don't we establish those Islamic values in our country as an example for people to look up to?"

He added, to cheers: "Let's reclaim Islam."

He would rather have adherence to religion than freedom of speech, he said.

Others speaking at the debate included Labour peer Lord Nazir Ahmed, Scottish nationalist Osama Saeed and radical lawyer Makbool Javaid.

Mr Javaid told the meeting: "I think that we have lost our way, that we've been mesmerised by this society.

"We need to return to our roots. Our vision is to change the world, not join silly little parties.

"What could be better than that when it's rooted in Islam?"

But Lord Ahmed angrily rejected those arguments.

He told the audience: "Britain is a great place. There's no other place in the world that gives Muslims more rights than the UK.

"Don't isolate yourselves just because you think you are superior."

Muslims wanted the same things as everyone else, he added, such as good transport, health, education and no crime.

Even the prophet Mohammed engaged in dialogue with non-Muslims, he pointed out.

"Muslims have been here in numbers only in the last 50 or 60 years.

"But it wasn't until 30 years ago that we thought it was our country. So in 30 years we haven't done that bad."

He added: "There are 8,000 Muslims in prisons in Britain because they've committed crime.

"We should be doing more to rehabilitate them rather than do nothing and be isolated."

But he was jeered when he criticised those who had clapped other speakers.

"You have done nothing for society apart from give us a bad name," he told them.

A vote at the end of the debate showed 78 per cent of the audience agreed that political participation had 'failed Muslims.'

Lord Ahmed told the East London Advertiser as he left at the end: "They just packed the room with their own supporters."

The only Tower Hamlets councillor to make a brief appearance at the debate was Labour's Alibor Choudhury.

HAS STREET WARFARE BEGUN IN GREAT BRITAIN?

"A MAJOR police alert was sparked after up to 40 Hungarian and
Pakistani yobs brandishing machetes and knives clashed in
Ravensthorpe.

Tensions boiled over in the multi-racial community on Tuesday night
amid claims that an Asian girl was "touched" by the Hungarians."

It looks like the throngs of Eastern European immigrants that have recently arrived both legally and illegally in the UK may be the flashpoint of what many feel will be street warfare against muslims trying to enforce their suffocating and vengeful Sharia Law in Great Britain.

Apparently these Hungarian men decided they were not going to cowtow to muslims nor be punished for an action that in western countries is an everyday normal behavior - talking to a young woman.

Muslim men need to "wake up and smell" the Western world that they have chosen to live in. Great Britain IS not a muslim nation (yet) though it frequently seems that the British government, multiculturalists and muslim leaders are trying hard to make it so.

Fears that violence may escalate again are justified as it is not just the Hungarians who are fed up with the overbearing, whining, demanding, controlling and vindictive muslim presence in Great Britain.

Has IT begun?

'War' on the streets

A MAJOR police alert was sparked after up to 40 Hungarian and
Pakistani yobs brandishing machetes and knives clashed in
Ravensthorpe.

Tensions boiled over in the multi-racial community on Tuesday night
amid claims that an Asian girl was "touched" by the Hungarians.

The rival gangs clashed in Spen Valley Road and one resident said:
"The Hungarians just decided to go to war."

A 36-year-old man from Ravensthorpe and a 39-year-old from
Huddersfield suffered slight head injuries and a number of weapons
were recovered by police.

Police described the disturbance as "an isolated incident" but patrols
have been stepped up to reassure local people.

Tuesday’s disturbances mirrored what happened last summer when Iraqis
and Pakistani youths clashed in Ravensthorpe and Savile Town.

Locals said the trouble then was caused by Asian girls being pestered
for sex by the Iraqi Kurds. During a week of tensions, riot police
were called to deal with running battles between rival gangs armed
with baseball bats and other weapons.

One man, a Kurd, was badly beaten and suffered head injuries.

This week’s disturbance has led to fears that violence may escalate
again
and Coun Khizar Iqbal, in charge of community safety at Kirklees
Council, said: "This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated and I
will be talking to the police to make sure there is no repeat of what
happened last year."

Coun Iqbal (Con, Dewsbury South) said that the make-up of the
Ravensthorpe community may need to be looked at.

"We have different groups of people coming into Ravensthorpe and the
dispersal scheme is run by national government, not local councils.

"This is a sensitive issue but we often don’t know who is coming in
and from where but it can disrupt settled communities. However we
cannot tolerate this kind of aggravation."

Businessman Vinny Burman, who runs an off-licence shop on the corner
of Spen Valley Road, described what happened on Tuesday and said:
"Some Asian men took offence at what had happened to the girl and
trouble erupted. It went pear-shaped and got hostile.

"A lot of residents were scared but we have had this before involving
Iraqis and Kurds. It goes on all the time. There is a lot of conflict
and this was not as bad as it could have been but then there was a
heavy police presence."

Mr Burman said grown Hungarian men were chasing young Asians with
machetes and knives. "That’s why it was so bad," he said. "It kept
going quiet and flaring up again. It is at night when it is worst.

"People have been coming into the shop asking whether they are safe.
They don’t know how to take this. They expect the worst."

Throughout Tuesday evening police mounted high visibility patrols.

Chief Insp Jon Carter, Dewsbury’s police commander, said: "We are
working closely with the community in Ravensthorpe to find out just
what happened.

"Clearly, when we get reports of large groups of people we take
positive action as this can cause fear and intimidation for members of
the community.

UK MUSLIMS OUTRAGED AND OFFENDED BY A BAG OF CHIPS

More moronic muslim outrage this time directed at the British potato chip (crisps) maker - Walkers. Muslims are outraged that some chips contain trace amounts of "prohibited" alcohol.

Truth is that the Quran doesn't prohibit all alcohol - it was the later laws created by muslim Caliphs 200 years after the death of Mohammed -  called hadith - that banned alcohol for muslims. In fact
some muslims nations are far more lenient with the consumption of alcohol by both non-muslims and muslims.  Certainly the sale of alcohol by muslims is not prohibited - judging from the plethora of Pakistani owned corner shops & package stores that sell alcohol - and the "offensive" bags of potato chips.

Regardless, for muslims to once again feign egregious hurt inflicted upon them by a pack of crisps is as ludricrous as it sounds.

What this really is is another attempt, by muslims, to force food manufacturers to Islamise all food products sold in the UK. One wonders how long it will be before all the meat consumed in the UK is halal? This is what the muslims are pushing for - and this is exactly what the British will get if they allow muslims to continue to force their religion and culture upon them.

Muslims criticise Walkers after it is revealed that some crisp varieties contain alcohol

Last updated at 13:31pm on 22nd February 2008

Doritos Heat variety are one of those that contain small amounts of trace alcohol

Furious Muslims have heavily criticised Walkers crisps after it emerged that certain varieties of the manufacturer's products contain trace elements of alcohol.

Some crisp types use minute amounts of alcohol as a chemical agent to extract certain flavours.

The report in Asian newspaper Eastern Eye, highlights concerns raised by shopkeeper Besharat Rehman, who owns a halal supermarket in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Mr Rehman told the paper: "A customer informed us that Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli and Doritos Chilli Heat Wave are not on Walkers' alcohol-free list. Our suppliers were unaware of this.

"Even if it is a trace amount of alcohol, Walkers should make it clear on the packaging so that the customer can make an informed choice.

"I feel frustrated and angry. I have let my customers down simply because such a big company like Walkers is not sensitive to Muslim needs.

"Many of them were my daughter's favourite crisps. As soon as I found out about the alcohol in them, I called home to ask my wife to throw out all the packets.”

Shuja Shafi, who chairs the food standards committee of the Muslim Council of Britain, said that he intended to investigate. "Certainly we would find it very offensive to have eaten food with alcohol."

Masood Khawaja, of the Halal Food Authority, said that this was not the first time the issue had been raised with Walkers.

"They should have looked into the matter and solved it instead of hiding behind labelling regulations. It does not matter what percentage of alcohol is involved.

"Besides Muslims, there are a lot of teetotal people who would not like to consume alcohol in any form. As far as possible we try and lobby for halal symbols on popular products like Kellogg's cereals.

"But we have always told Muslims to check the contents list even if a product is marked suitable for vegetarians. But to not mention it on the packaging is unfair.”

However, a spokesperson for Walkers said that trace amounts of alcohol in crisps or bread are believed to be permissible for Muslims.

"We do not add alcohol to our products. However, ethyl alcohol may be present in trace amounts in a very small number of our flavours.

"It is used as a carrying agent for flavourings, and is found in many common food and drink products.

"Foods like bread can also contain the same or higher trace amounts due to fermentation. "We are aware of the concerns from some Muslim consumers about the appropriateness of specific ingredients. We take the concerns of our consumers extremely seriously.

"In previous assessments by Muslim scholars, foods and drinks that contain trace amounts of ethyl alcohol have been confirmed as permissible for Muslim consumption because of both the fact that the ingredient does not bear its original qualities and does not change the taste, colour or smell of the product, and its very low level."

KOSOVO - A THREAT NOT A COUNTRY

Not much commentary needed from me as the mainstream media and the internet are loaded with articles and commentary on the Kosovo situation.

Setting up a muslim state within Europe has brought near continual bloodshed and strife.

One can expect that the "Balkanized" muslim population, that has invaded every European country, will eventually result in this same type of conflict - it is only a matter of time.

I have added several more links below on this subject - but they are the "tip of the iceberg"

'Independent' Kosovo: A threat, not a country

By James George Jatras

Abraham Lincoln was fond of asking the rhetorical question: "If you call a tail a leg, how many legs does a dog have? Five? No, calling a tail a leg don't make it a leg."

That pretty much sums up the recent unilateral declaration of independence by Albanian Muslims in the Serbian province of Kosovo. Several countries, disgracefully led by the United States, have recognized Kosovo. Major media have hailed creation of the "world's newest country." But calling Kosovo a country doesn't make it one.

Serbia has denounced the move as the illegal creation of a "separatist entity" on its sovereign territory and has handed down criminal indictments against several of the top Albanian Muslim leaders. Now under way is a sharp global competition to see which governments will recognize Kosovo and which will not. Under heavy pressure from the U.S. State Department, most European countries will meekly comply. Some, like Cyprus with its Turkish-occupied north and Spain with its Basque separatist movement, will not.

In short, an action State Department bureaucrats touted as "settling Kosovo's status" has resulted in anything but. Outside of Europe, the picture is even fuzzier. Russia will reject Kosovo's independence, and expected to take the same line are China, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, South Africa, Brazil and many others. Russia will veto any effort to extend Kosovo membership in the United Nations.

Any sovereign state with restive ethnic or religious minorities would recognize Kosovo at its own peril. What Washington seeks to inflict on Serbia today could be the fate of the American southwest tomorrow. Israel, in particular, is closely pondering its next move. While loath to anger Washington, Jerusalem must consider that a Kosovo precedent could, absent any negotiated agreement, prompt proclamation of a Palestinian state, to be recognized by Arab and Muslim regimes. The same precedent could apply to heavily Muslim areas such as Galilee and the Negev within Israel's formal borders.

At a special press briefing, outgoing Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns – who is often mentioned as a possible secretary of state under a Democratic administration – hailed support for Kosovo from the Organization of the Islamic Conference and Muslim governments. Happily claiming that a "vastly majority Muslim state" has been carved out of Serbia, a European Christian country, Burns said: "We think it is a very positive step that this Muslim state, Muslim majority state, has been created today."

Burns' remarks reflect a desperate hope by the Bush administration that displays of American pro-Islamic favoritism in the Balkans and support for a Palestinian state (its domination by Hamas notwithstanding) will buy the good will of hostile devotees of the "religion of peace and tolerance." Their gratitude is manifest in the jihad terror plot to attack Fort Dix, N.J., where four of the six defendants are Albanian Muslims from the Kosovo region. The offenders' presence in the United States – three of them illegal aliens and one brought to the U.S. by the Clinton administration as a refugee, another example of "gratitude" – stems from the fact that a broadly based support network for the terrorist "Kosovo Liberation Army," KLA, has been allowed to operate with impunity in the New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania area, raising funds and collecting weapons, not to mention peddling influence with American politicians.

Meanwhile, Christian Serbs in Kosovo are bracing for the worst. "We are all expecting something difficult and horrible," said Bishop Artemije, pastor of Kosovo's Orthodox Christians. "Our message to you, all Serbs in Kosovo, is to remain in your homes and around your monasteries, regardless of what God allows or our enemies do."

The bishop's flock has good reason to fear. Far from the usual claims that NATO stopped a humanitarian catastrophe in Kosovo in 1999, the past nine years have seen a slow-motion genocide in progress against the province's Christian Serbian population under the nose of the U.N. and NATO, and at times with their facilitation. Two-thirds of the Serbian population already has been expelled and have not been able to return safely to their homes, along with similar proportions of other groups (Roma, Gorani, Croats and all the Jews). Over 150 churches and monasteries have been destroyed, with crosses and icons of Christ attracting particular vandalistic rage, a testament to Kosovo Albanians' supposed secularism and pro-Western orientation.

Hundreds of new Saudi-funded mosques fomenting the extreme Wahhabi doctrine have sprung up. Kosovo is visibly morphing from part of Europe into part of the Middle East. In contrast to Under Secretary Burns' cheerleading, former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton has warned: "Kosovo will be a weak state susceptible to radical Islamist influence from outside the region, with the support from some Albanians, in other words, a potential gate for radicalism to enter Europe." If allowed to consolidate, an independent Kosovo would become a way station toward an anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-Christian "Eurabia."

Around the world, jihad terror usually goes hand-in-hand with organized crime. Kosovo is the perfect case in point. The supposed authorities of the would-be state are themselves kingpins in the Albanians Mafia, whose network extends throughout Europe and has a significant presence in New York City. Besides all the international aid dumped down the Kosovo rat hole, or carted off by corrupt officials, the only real "industry" is crime: drugs (heroin from Afghan opium), slaves (kidnapped women and children from Moldova, Ukraine and other countries brought in for local "service" – there are lot of lonely international bureaucrats in Kosovo – or shipped off into Europe), and weapons (the missile that hit the U.S. Embassy in Athens in 2006 and the explosives used in the London and Madrid train bombings came through Kosovo).

What will happen now in Kosovo? It would be up to the KLA and their supporters to decide whether to kick off a new cycle of violence by attacking Serbs who refuse to submit to their "authority." Serbia in fact has been beefing up its legitimate state institutions in areas where Serbs are concentrated, which the Albanians have threatened to shut down as – believe it or not – illegal separatist structures. We will see if the political violence unleashed by the act of recognition will be matched by physical violence on the ground. Meanwhile, Serbia will undertake undisclosed countermeasures to undermine the illegally declared KLA- and Mafia-ruled entity and force resumption of negotiations to achieve a valid settlement. Let us hope they succeed.

With a stoke of his pen, President Bush, by heeding the State Department's bad advice to recognize a supposedly independent Kosovo, has triggered the perfect international storm: shattering the principle of the territorial integrity of sovereign nations, encouraging violent separatists worldwide, provoking a needless confrontation with Russia and other countries, boosting the jihad terrorist and organized crime threat to Europe and America, and creating conditions for a human rights and religious freedom nightmare. In terms of far-reaching consequences, it may the worst blunder of his presidency. Which is saying a lot.

17,000 WOMEN VICTIMS OF HONOR VIOLENCE IN THE UK

There is NO way that the facts presented below can be mitigated by even the most ardent muslim apologist.

These are the "enhancements" that muslims bring with them to EVERY country where they immigrate.

A question of honour: Police say 17,000 women are victims every year

Ministers are stepping up the fight against so-called 'honour' crime and forced marriages. Detectives say official statistics are 'merely the tip of the iceberg' of this phenomenon. Brian Brady investigates

Sunday, 10 February 2008

Up to 17,000 women in Britain are being subjected to "honour" related violence, including murder, every year, according to police chiefs.

And official figures on forced marriages are the tip of the iceberg, says the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).

It warns that the number of girls falling victim to forced marriages, kidnappings, sexual assaults, beatings and even murder by relatives intent on upholding the "honour" of their family is up to 35 times higher than official figures suggest.

The crisis, with children as young as 11 having been sent abroad to be married, has prompted the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to call on British consular staff in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan to take more action to identify and help British citizens believed to be the victims of forced marriages in recent years.

The Home Office is drawing up an action plan to tackle honour-based violence which "aims to improve the response of police and other agencies" and "ensure that victims are encouraged to come forward with the knowledge that they will receive the help and support they need". And a Civil Protection Bill coming into effect later this year will give courts greater guidance on dealing with forced marriages.

Commander Steve Allen, head of ACPO's honour-based violence unit, says the true toll of people falling victim to brutal ancient customs is "massively unreported" and far worse than is traditionally accepted. "We work on a figure which suggests it is about 500 cases shared between us and the Forced Marriage Unit per year," he said: "If the generally accepted statistic is that a victim will suffer 35 experiences of domestic violence before they report, then I suspect if you multiplied our reporting by 35 times you may be somewhere near where people's experience is at." His disturbing assessment, made to a committee of MPs last week, comes amid a series of gruesome murders and attacks on British women at the hands of their relatives.

Marilyn Mornington, a district judge and chair of the Domestic Violence Working Group, warned that fears of retribution, and the authorities' failure to understand the problem completely, meant the vast majority of victims were still too scared to come forward for help. In evidence to the home affairs committee, which is investigating the problem, she said: "We need a national strategy to identify the large number of pupils, particularly girls, missing from school registers who have been taken off the register and are said to be home schooled, which leads to these issues. Airport staff and other staff need to be trained to recognise girls who are being taken out of the country.

"We are bringing three girls a week back from Islamabad as victims of forced marriage. We know that is the tip of the iceberg, but that is the failure end. It has to be part of education within the communities and the children themselves."

Women who have been taken overseas to be married against their will are now being rescued on an almost daily basis. The Government's Forced Marriage Unit (FMU) handled approximately 400 cases last year – 167 of them leading to young Britons being helped back to the UK to escape unwanted partners overseas. And it is not just women who are affected. Home Office figures show that 15 per cent of cases involve men and boys.

In an attempt to crack down on the crimes being committed in the name of honour, police are to introduce a new training package that will give all officers instructions on handling honour cases. In addition, detectives are believed to be conducting a "cold case" style review of previous suicides amid suspicions that cases of honour killings are more common than previously thought.

Almost all victims of the most extreme crimes are women, killed in half of cases by their own husbands. Sometimes murders are carried out by other male relatives, or even hired killers. The fear that many thousands are left to endure honour violence alone may be supported by the disturbing details of the incidence of suicide within the British Asian community. Women aged 16 to 24 from Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi backgrounds are three times more likely to kill themselves than the national average for women of their age.

A report published last week by the Centre for Social Cohesion found that many women felt unable to defy their families and therefore "suffer violence, abuse, depression, anxiety and other psychological problems that can lead to self-harm, schizophrenia and suicide". James Brandon, co-author of Crimes of the Community: Honour-based Violence in the UK, said: "The Government is still not taking honour crime seriously. Until this happens, the ideas of honour which perpetuate this violence will continue to be passed on through generations. Religious leaders, local authorities and central government must work together to end such abuses of human rights."

The human cost of honour crime was vividly captured in a haunting video message from murdered Banaz Mahmood, who revealed how her own father had tried to kill her after she abandoned her arranged marriage and fell in love with another man. In the grainy message she told how he plied her with brandy – the first time she had ever drunk alcohol – pulled the curtains and asked her to turn around.

The 19-year-old fled, but less than a month after making the grainy video on a mobile phone, Banaz was dead. Her naked body was found buried in a yard in Birmingham in 2006, more than 100 miles from her London home. She had been raped and tortured by men hired by her uncle to kill her. Mahmood's father, uncle and one of her killers were sentenced to a total of 60 years in jail for the murder.

And the fatal potential of honour disputes was laid bare last month when a coroner said he was convinced that a Muslim teenager who feared she was being forced into an arranged marriage by her parents had suffered a "vile murder." Ian Smith said the concept of an arranged marriage was "central" to the circumstances leading up to the death of 17-year-old Shafilea Ahmed, whose decomposed body was discovered on the banks of the River Kent at Sedgwick, Cumbria, four years ago. After running away from home in February 2003, Shafilea told housing officers: "My parents are going to send me to Pakistan and I'll be married to someone and left there." The tragic story of the bright teenager who wanted to go to university and study law is far from the only example of the anguish suffered by British teenagers in recent years.

Toafiq Wahab, British consul in Dhaka, Bangladesh, recalls a "rescue mission" to recover a 17-year-old who called his office from Sylhet. "We had to track her down and 36 hours from taking that call, we had turned up at her house with an armed police escort," he said. "The house was filled with over 20 of her relations, most of whom were from Britain and stunned to see me. They obviously did not want her to leave. We simply asked her if she wanted to leave and go back to the UK in the presence of all her family and she agreed. I then spoke to the family and explained what we were doing and tried to make them understand. In the end, we had to get the police to assist in helping us to leave."

Former Bradford policeman Philip Balmforth, who works with vulnerable Asian women, said he saw 395 cases of forced marriage in the city last year. "I had a case of a 14-year-old girl at school," he recalled. "The teacher tells me that the girl claims to have been married. So I went along to the school with a Muslim colleague. We saw the girl. We asked her a few questions and we were not sure. Then the girl said: 'If you don't believe me I have the video at home.'"

In Bradford alone, a total of 250 girls aged between 13 and 16 were taken off the school rolls last year because they failed to return from trips abroad. Campaigners suspect many were victims of forced marriages.

"If contacted by concerned young British men and women in the UK, the FMU provides free and confidential advice on the potential dangers of being forced into marriage overseas and precautions to take to help avoid this happening," said a Foreign Office spokesperson last night. "If we learn that a British national overseas is being forced into marriage, or has already been forced into marriage, we look at various means of consular assistance ranging from action through the courts to rescue missions."

"The FMU can also help to arrange accommodation for victims for when they return to the UK and can refer victims to counselling and supports groups, legal centres, and so on.

"When it is necessary, the FMU and our embassies and high commissions work closely with the police and judiciary overseas in order to organise emergency rescue and repatriation missions."

Britain's hidden scandal

The kidnap victim

In June 2000 Narina Anwar, 29, and her two sisters claim they were tricked by their parents into going on a family holiday to a remote village in Pakistan, where they were held captive for five months in an attempt to force them to marry three illiterate villagers. The sisters fled to Lahore and contacted the British High Commission, which persuaded their parents to hand over their children's passports so they could return home.

The 'slave'

Gina Singh, 28, sued her former mother-in-law for £35,000 in 2006 after she was forced to work 17 hours a day around the house. Ms Singh, from Nottingham, was forbidden to leave the house on her own after an arranged marriage in 2002.

The runaway wife

In 1983, Zana Muhsen and her sister Nadia, from Birmingham, were pushed by their father to visit Yemen and forced to marry. Zana, now 35, escaped eight years later. Her father had sold her for a few thousand dollars. The experience is recounted in her book, 'Sold'.

The murder victim

Surjit Athwal disappeared with Bachan Athwal, her mother-in-law, after a family wedding in India in 1998. Her body was never found. Bachan later boasted that she arranged for her son, Sukhdave, to murder Surjit after finding out that she was having an affair.

The attempted suicide

Shafilea Ahmed was the victim of a suspected honour killing. The 17-year-old's body was found months after she had returned from a trip to Pakistan in 2003. On the trip she drank bleach. The coroner said he saw it as a 'desperate measure' to avoid a forced marriage

14 YEAR OLD SCHOOLBOY VICTIM OF "HONOUR" BEATING & KIDNAPPING

Here we have another example of a "courageous and well assimilated" band of muslim thugs kidnapping and beating a 14 year old British lad.  What was the "offense" that spurred these five grown men to kidnap, punch, and kick the boy's face, stomach and head so hard that a footprint was left on his forehead???  Why the boy had the audacity to talk to a classmate - the muslim's female cousin.

Contrary to the idiotic comment by Prosecutor Jeremy Grout- Smith, the motivation behind this hideous attack is clear - it is yet another example punishment being rationalized and dished out because one or more muslim men felt that an action had occurred which caused them to feel dishonoured. Their egotistic feelings being of tantamount importance and their narcissism being buoyed up by the teachings of the Religion of Peace.

If you search the web you will find hundreds of examples of so called honour violence happening around the world - indeed,
17,000 women, in the UK, are subjected to honor violence that often includes murder - EACH YEAR!

So perhaps this 14 year old boy should consider himself "lucky" to have not been slaughtered by these muslim thugs?  Should we warn our male children that they may be beaten or killed if they talk to a female muslim classmate?

Has anyone seen the girl cousin lately???

article in full - emphasis mine

A TERRIFIED schoolboy was bundled into the back of a car by a gang, driven to a remote spot, beaten up and dumped there, a jury heard.

Burnley Crown Court was told the 14-year-old, from Nelson, was punched and kicked. He was left injured, bleeding and with a footprint on his forehead.

When he took police to the scene of the attack they found his blood on the road.

Five men have admitted assaulting the youngster last April in Nelson. The court heard the victim was said to have been accused of talking to the female cousin of one of the gang at the school they both attended.

Prosecutor Jeremy Grout-Smith told the jury: "Whether this was the motive for the attack remains to be seen."

Imran Yousaf, 18, of Howgill Close, Nelson, Zeshan Ali, 22, of Vulcan Close, Padgate, Warrington, Mujahid Ansar, 18, of St Paul's Road, Nelson, Imran Ali, 19, of Carr Road, Nelson and a Nelson 17-year-old all admitted assault occasio-ning actual bodily harm.

Mr Grout-Smith said the boy was pushed into a car as he walked home from a takeaway on Larch Street.

He said the victim met Yousaf in the takeaway and was told "I hear you have been talking to my cousin."

The boy said he had not and he was told "you're coming with us."

The prosecutor said the teenager was taken to waste land near Lomeshaye Industrial estate. The boy was pulled from the car and punched in the face. He was also struck with a weapon, which the court heard was possibly an anti-theft car lock.

Mr Grout-Smith said the youngster was knocked to the ground before being kicked repeatedly to the face, head and stomach.

HAVE THE DARK AGES RETURNED TO EUROPE?

Good article by an American columnist who is in solidarity with most writers, bloggers, and many others who believe that freedom of speech is the crux of all of our other freedoms - without it other freedoms are in grave jeopardy if not already snuffed out - DOA.

The current biggest threat to our freedom of speech are muslims and their dhimmi apologists who seek to stifle our comments, cartoons and artistic expression if any muslim deems it "offensive" to them. Dhimmi bureaucrats are all to happy to use this muslim whining as reasons to set up "Hate speech" legislation and tribunals so that the government can get in on the act of intimidation and squelching of free speech. Only
a few kuffar fights back and occasionally win.

Muslim threats normally do not always take the path of ordinary browbeatings such as economic sanctions or even the much overused whiney victimisation of "islamophobia" -  but more often are venomously spewed at the "offender" with promises of violence and death. We all know that muslims have made good on their vicious death threats both by killing individuals such as
Theo van Gogh and with the "youth" riots in Denmark and France and scores of Islamic countries. The effects of the menacing muslim blackmail has already chilled the media on nearly a worldwide basis.

Just like the muslim appeasing poltical jabberwocky of UK ministers who have ludicrously decided to rename Islamic terrorism or violence as
anti Islamic activity words can and do create a scenario and impact for all who read or hear them.  Thus I suggest that "hate speech" legislation should be directed at those who spew out the REAL violence and hate towards others not those who seek to use their freedom of speech to place the onus on the REAL haters - therefore perhaps we should call freedom of speech an "anti-hate activity"??

This is a call to arms for all who value their freedom of speech - do not take lightly the creeping infringements on our right to freely write, talk and draw our thoughts - otherwise all of our futures look as grim as the Dark Ages.

Kathleen Parker:

Muslim threats lead toward Darker Age in Europe

Traveling to Europe's Dark Ages, one might expect to find newspaper headlines like these:

• Archbishop of Canterbury says sharia law to be incorporated into British laws.

• A Danish cartoonist is placed under indefinite police protection as three would-be assassins are arrested.

• Renegade Muslim author seeks country to protect her from Islamist fanatics promising to kill her.

Alas, these are headlines from the past few weeks in modern-day Europe, where ancient values continue to collide with Western civilization.

One does not have to be anti-Islam to be concerned as radical Islam clashes with Modern Europe. One does have to be blind -- or in dangerous denial -- not to be concerned that threats and violence from religionists, coupled with incremental accommodations and submissions by the soon-to-be "formerly" dominant culture, are leading to a darker age.

Is that the land of Mordor in the distance?

No, it's Denmark, where the cartoon controversy that caused Muslim outrage in 2005 continues to draw fire from the lunatic fringe. Three Muslim men have been arrested for plotting to kill one of the cartoonists, Kurt Westergaard, whose drawing showed the prophet Muhammad wearing a bomb-turban with a lit fuse.

Westergaard's intention, he has explained, was to illustrate how fanatics have co-opted the prophet for their murderous purposes. But literal-minded, fundamentalist Muslims, who apparently have no understanding of satire or the irreverence that underpins Western humor, saw only disrespect.

Wednesday, newspapers in Denmark, Sweden and Spain republished one of the infamous cartoons in solidarity with the Danish newspaper Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten, which originally published the cartoon, one among a dozen, as an exercise in free speech.

Replaying the events that previously caused so much trouble may be viewed as unnecessary -- and many American editors apparently see it that way. With only a few exceptions, most U.S. newspapers elected not to run the cartoons, sending readers to the Web for more information and, it would seem, self-defeat.

But if you were Westergaard, now under indefinite police protection -- or author Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who needs protection wherever she travels -- you might think that the debate over free expression needs to be relentlessly aired no matter what the immediate fallout.

Hirsi Ali, author of "Infidel" -- an autobiographical critique of Islam and the religion's oppression of women -- has been on the run since her co-filmmaker, Theo van Gogh, was murdered on the streets in Holland. Stabbed to his chest was a note for Hirsi Ali promising that she was next.

In the wake of van Gogh's killing -- and threats against Hirsi Ali and the cartoonist -- one could easily make the safer decision to self-censor. Death for doodling seems hardly worth it. But giving in to intimidation inevitably leads to greater demands for special accommodation down the road.

Which leads where?

Follow the yellow brick to Canterbury, where the archbishop recently made a case for redefining the relationship between religious conscience and law to allow people to opt out of laws that contradict their teachings. Under that redefinition, sharia laws that permit gender inequality could be given a place within existing British code.

The archbishop has been word-bombed with criticism, deservedly, though he characterized the response as an overreaction.

No, an overreaction is a man who kills his wife -- or a brother kills his sister -- for dishonoring the family under sharia law. Overreaction is murdering a filmmaker for exploring the abuse of human rights that can be justified under strict interpretations of sharia law. Overreaction is plotting to assassinate a cartoonist for Allah's sake because you don't get it.

Underreaction to radical Islam and jihad gets Paris burned, artists killed, thousands incinerated by detonator airplanes, and archbishops advancing religious exemptions to enlightened law.

Europeans seem to understand this better than Americans in spite of 9/11, primarily because they have already underreacted -- or reacted too late. A recent Gallup poll for the World Economic Forum found that a majority of Europeans believed relations between the West and the Muslim world are worsening. This is owing in varying degrees to a lack of Muslim assimilation, a dying non-Muslim European population whose birth rate is being outpaced by Muslims three-to-one, and the sense that European culture is being usurped.

The brightest light in the Western world -- the one that flickers now in pockets of Europe -- is the freedom of expression that makes all other freedoms possible. Once that light is extinguished, then it may be too late, or too deadly, to react.
